The Puff Sleeve Trend Just Keeps Getting Bigger

I’ve fully embraced the puff sleeve trend. It’s been easy because I’ve never met an exaggerated puff sleeve that I didn’t love. Tops can be boring, and statement sleeves add so much interest. So, I’ve been purchasing styles with no fear of growing tired of them. I’ve even dusted off a few old favorites from my wardrobe. Good news is, though, the trend is getting bigger and bigger, literally and figuratively.

Zara top (similar) | Zara leggings (similar) | Talbots coat (option, love this)

Steve Madden booties | YSL Toy LouLou bag | Pat McGrath lipstick

Diamond huggie earrings (similar) | Ear cuff

Puff Sleeve Trend

I found today’s featured top in the Zara holiday sale (see the H&M version here). It was a must-have for me because it’s so extra, in all the best ways possible. I mean, it has dramatic puff sleeves, wide cuffs, and ruching. It’s also cropped, so I’ve been pairing it with high-waisted bottoms like these faux-leather flare leggings.

I wore the top and this entire outfit to a concert I attended last week. It was the perfect, ‘fashionable’ look for the occasion. And, equally important, I felt comfortable.

An Outfit-Defining Accessory For As Little As $10

Designer patterned tights have been a top choice by fashion enthusiasts this winter (see Fendi pair and Gucci pair). No surprise, they can be so outfit-defining. If you’re like me, however, and you’re a tad prone to reaming tights, splurging on them mightn’t be prudent. Good news is, we can still have fashion fun with all the affordable options on the market. In today’s post, my $10 tights transform my all-black outfit.

What I’m wearing:

Dress | Tights | Boots (similar, option) | Bag | Earrings

Patterned tights

Get this. My tights are from Target, and they’re $10 (get yours here). Compared to the over-$300 designer pairs, these tights are an easy choice that pack a lot of flavor. How fly is that floral back pattern? There are other equally fabulous options too, from all-over houndstooth (seen worn here) to leopard. All for only $10!

These patterned tights were the perfect complement to my black tunic dress. By the way, the dress is now available in beige and white. I enjoyed wearing it so much that I’m considering getting it in white as well.

The dress has statement puff sleeves, wide cuffs, and a flare peplum. It’s dramatic in the best ways possible. It’s also 100% cotton and so comfortable. I’m wearing it in a size small.

How To Always Find The Perfect Bermuda Shorts

Bermuda length shorts are all the rage for 2020. If you have a hard time finding the perfect length for you, I have an easy solution. DIY Bermuda shorts! It’s so easy. I swear.

What I’m wearing:

BagSunglasses (option) | Pearl hoop earrings | Lip: Pat McGrath “Elson”

I’m only 5’4″, so Bermuda shorts at the wrong length make my legs look non-existent. I’m very particular, then, about where I like the bottom of my Bermudas to hit my leg (right at the knee).

After searching with no luck for a pair in black, I decided to get crafty with an old pair pants. I decided on a length and simply cut the pants off with some sharp scissors. Since I like the look of rough edges, I opted not to hem the pants, so my job was done. Of course, if you want a more tailored look, hem them for sure.

Deciding on a length was easy this time around because I already had a perfect pair (see the jeans I cut off here). So, I just lined them up and cut my black pair to the exact same length.

By the way, if you’re on the market for some fun tights to jazz up your winter outfits, check Target. I’ve been loving the options by A New Day, and each pair is $10. I’ve purchased the featured houndstooth pair as well as some striking floral back tights.
