Airport Style

I did a couple interviews recently with new blogger friends. You can check them out at Classic City Chic and Journa Style. In my interview with Journa Style, I was asked about my airport style, and I thought that was the coolest question because I think a lot about what I wear when traveling.

Will I be comfortable wearing this outfit for several hours? Does it represent my style? My airport style has a lot of standards to meet. Here’s an outfit I wore yesterday to survive about 10 hours of travel time and a drastic climate change.

Tee: J.Crew

Joggers: Nine West (want these)

Scarf: Anthropologie (love this)

Loafers: J.Crew

Tote: Kate Spade Saturday

Carry-on luggage: Bric’s (in different colors)

Earrings: Kendra Scott (new for spring)

Rings: Kendra Scott, Kendra Scott (on sale)

Lip: Mac “fashion legacy” liquid lipcolour, Mac “beet” lip pencil

This travel look is anchored by comfy knits—my J.Crew boatneck striped t-shirt and black jogger pants. The tee has 3/4-length sleeves, which were just warm enough to leave St. Louis and can easily be made cooler by rolling the sleeves. My jersey jogger pants feel as comfortable as pajamas, but look hip.

I had to leave home at 4 AM, so I decided to leave my hair in my nighttime twists. My satin-lined hat (a SLAP) kept my hair protected and served as a stylish cover-up while traveling. My jumbo scarf was the perfect additional layer to keep cozy in flight. Of course, I also wore one of my comfiest pairs of shoes.

These days, I travel with carry-on luggage only. My personal item is usually the tote I plan to use at my destination. I’m also loving my Bric’s carry-on bag. It’s extremely lightweight and so roomy. The 4-wheel spinners make it so easy to drag through airports too.
