Put to the Test: Emjoi Micro-Nail Shine Buffer

My nails have been on a short “nail polish holiday.” I’ve been experiencing some dryness, peeling, and fingernail bed sensitivity from frequent polish changes. So, I gave my nails a rest. Do you ever need to do that?

I still want my nails to look good during this time, so I keep them trimmed and filed. I try to oil my cuticles often too. I’ve also been using a new tool I was sent for review—the emjoi Micro-Nail. This product promises to smooth, buff, and shine nails instantly.

I’ve had success with another emjoi product—the Micro-Pedi (now on sale). I wrote all about it in Getting my Feet Ready for Sandal Season. I was especially curious, then, to put the Micro-Nail to the test.

The product comes with two Micro-Smooth rollers for smoothing and two Micro-Shine rollers for shining the nails. It’s battery-operated and requires two AA batteries. Here’s how it looks.

One of the Micro-Smooth rollers is on my Micro-Mani tool.

My nails always require smoothing, but I rarely have the patience to do it. The emjoi Micro-Nail makes it so easy. The rollers move so quickly that you can buff and shine the nails in seconds. By the way, the rollers can be used several times before becoming worn out. Replacement rollers are available. Here are my nails before using the Micro-Nail.

And, here they are after! Do you see all that shine? I could almost see my reflection in them. The shine is supposed to last up to two weeks too. By the second week, my nails looked more dull, so I skipped the smoothing step and just used the Micro-Shine roller for a high shine touch-up.

The emjoi Micro-Nail retails for $29.95, which is such a great deal. Wouldn’t this be the perfect Galentine’s Day gift? Actually, it’ll be a perfect gift for that guy who likes to keep his nails in tip-top condition too.

I am the WORST about taking care of my nails and I have got to get better about it. Any tools that make this task easier (like this one) I am down for!
