A Chevron Print Top for a 70s-Inspired Casual Look

I did some sale shopping at the end of last week.  My first stop was the Loft because of its 40% off sale items.  I then headed to The Limited to check out its up-to-70% off promotion.  I left each store with one sale top purchase.

Today’s post features the new top I purchased inThe Limited.  It is a turquoise, zig zag stitch top with flap sleeves and a banded hem.  This top just happened to be one of the more expensive items in the sale at the store.  It was marked down to $29.99 and I received an additional educator’s discount of 15% off.

When I saw the top, I immediately visualized pairing it with my Loft shorts and Kanna t-strap wedges.

The look didn’t quite work out as I imagined though.  I felt like the top would better complement slimmer pants.  So, I decided to pair the top with cuffed straight leg jeans for a casual late lunch date on Saturday.   Here’s the final look.

Really pretty top, you can do so much with it.

I definitely like the second look, but you're so doggone stylish, you pull off both!

I can also see you wearing this with white linen pants (with a more slim fit), a straw fedora, and a wrist full of gold bangles. Maybe red thong sandals to throw in a contrasting color (or gold to keep it neutral)?

Educator/student discount is always awesome. As a recent grad (my student ID hasn't expired yet!), the student discount at J.Crew, Loft, etc. is definitely a plus. ๐Ÿ™‚ Unfortunately, my closest J.Crew store doesn't let me use my student discount on sale items or items on promotion, but my J.Crew outlet does. I wonder if that's a J.Crew store policy…

So true @Sing! There are some classic prints that I just adore and this is one of them.

Great suggestion @Kish! Note to self: get some white pants!

@Lady D: I was instantly attracted. It came in a warmer print too.

@Jane: I am so glad you stopped by. I didn't know that you could get a discount at the outlet. Wow! I never even tried. Thanks for that info!

@Andi: Yup, it is reminiscent of Missoni
