Today’s spring look is anchored by one of my favorite dresses. It is a Kay Unger New York denim sheath that I found on clearance in Marshalls for $49 last August. It was a steal because Kay Unger New York dresses usually retail for at least five times that price.
The dress came with a self belt with floral accents (see the dress with original belt in Looking Back, Looking Forward) that I replaced in today’s post. The dress was also a few inches too long for me, so I had it altered (see before and after pictures in The Right Length).
For work, the dress is topped by the Loft’s crinkle stripe jacket with the sleeves rolled up. A green, leather skinny belt and hot pink Coach caper flats complete the look.
So check this out, I bought, returned, and repurchased the Coach caper flats. Apparently the Coach shoes weren’t selling in my local Marshalls, so they marked them down from $79.99 to $59.99. At that price, I was comfortable owning a second pair of pink shoes. Yes, my purchasing behavior was a tad erratic, but sometimes that is called for. Ha!
Love the Kay Unger dress and the lime green belt…Definitely a hot spring vibe…
I randomly found your blog and have spent about an hour going through your posts. I absolutely adore your style! You always look so put together and cute. I have very little style :), and hope I can learn from you. I also love seeing how shopping smart can still result in really adorable outfits. Thanks!
@Annie: Thanks! It is funny how that skinny green belt readied the dress for spring.
@Kate: How wonderful! I am so happy that you found the blog! Definitely come back! There is lots of content in the archives and labels to help you navigate.
