“You Saw the Ad, Now Get the Look”

Ok Old Navy. ON is so confident about its new safari collection, hence the title of a recent email to subscribers—“you saw the ad, now get the look.” Now, its safari collection does look very chic. So, I decided to pay a long overdue visit to ON this past weekend.
In person, the safari collection looked just as good as I imagined. Many of the collection’s pieces were already marked down too. I am sad to report though that I was disappointed with the fit of most of the items I tried on.
The belted safari jacket, a popular piece in the collection, was all wrong for me. The rolled sleeves were too tight while the bodice was too large. The only thing that fit perfectly was the black leopard safari style dress. Despite reservations about the short length, I bought it anyway.
At home, I threw on some leggings, pull-on boots, and a black cardigan. What resulted was a cute look; but, it is just not my style. So, I say nay to this ON safari dress—return, return, return!

Oh dear, I think you look so great.
    Very stylish and sexy.
    Love it.
My advice is not of the return.

    xoxo

Awww…don’t say that the seeker. Lol. Actually, I have already returned it.

Thanks for the advice. I agree that it is stylish and sexy. I just don’t think it is for me.

I think the dress looks great. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve been to Old Navy, maybe my store has some markdowns.

I’ll agree with you the safari look is great on the rack I tried on the shirt dress and it was big all over. I think you made the right decision the return the dress. Some of the longer halter dresses have a nice fit.

    Thanks all!

Poster Girl: Definitely check your store, for most of the pieces have been marked down. Of course, a lot of them are sold out. You may get lucky though.

Anon: I am comforted to know that I was not the only one with fit issues. I didn’t try any of the long halter dresses. Several of them were striking. So, I may have to try them.

You know what Budget Babe, I first saw the collection on your site! And, the collection is absolutely beautiful, but it did not work out for me 🙁

    That is SUPERB.

Even though I thought you looked great in that dress (love how you styled it, too!) you have to stay true to your own style (and I think your body language in the photo shows you’re not really feeling it anyways.) So it’s probably best you returned it – props for trying something new, take note people!

    😉

Ha. Thanks Budget Babe! I so did that pose on purpose too 🙂

The look is fabulous. But, it just wasn’t for me. I had fun with it though!

Love it. I feel the same way about ON’s collection. It really must be altered on the models. I purchased a few items the romper to be specific in which I am debating if i love the fit of it.

Diva. With ON, when it fits, it really fits. But, when it does not fit, it is all wrong. I really like the look of many pieces in this collection too, so it is unfortunate.
