Into the Blue: Summer Color Trends Are Feeling The Blues

Shades of blue were all the rage last winter. And, summer color trends are still feeling the blues. Our options are just more plentiful now, from sorbet shades of blues to electric blues. I personally favor deep hues, so cobalt is always a must-have. When I saw this dress on hm.com, it was a no-brainer.

I wore this ensemble to attend a launch party at a local vineyard in my area recently. It was just the breezy, one-piece wonder I needed for the occasion. I tossed it on after work and was ready in an instant.

The blue color was the perfect base to build a color-blocked combination when paired with my Jacquemus Le Chiquito Long bag in orange.

Remember when I broke my toe a few months ago? Well, it healed with a complication, and I’ve since had to have surgery. The saga never ends, y’all. Be careful on steps! As I recover, my shoe choices are limited to soft sneakers only. I’m at the stage of fully embracing this limitation as a style challenge. What else can I do, right? The Nike Daybreak sneakers have been my perfectly comfortable shoe. I’ve since purchased them in black/white too.

Today is the day! The Gibsonlook Road Trip collection is now live. You can shop it HERE. It’s been such a joy to partner with Gibsonlook, along with Ashley Hargrove, Jessica Fay, and Natasha Stoneking. This opportunity was such a huge one for me, and allowed me, in a tough year, to check a major goal off my list. So, I hope you enjoy the Gibsonlook x Economy of Style Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Dress and the entire collection.

The collection features 8 styles with 14 variants. It’s filled with everyday wear staples that’ll suit your summer needs no matter what you’re up to. Quarantining at home? We got you. Road trip? We got you. Staycation in your city? We got you. The sizes on each item range from XXS to XXL. The prices are affordable too, ranging from $42 to $85. And, there’s more. Use the code PSYCHE25 to get 25% off your purchase. Without further ado, here’s the Economy of Style dress and my personal favorites from the line.

The Gibsonlook x Economy of Style Off the Shoulder Dress

I get my love of off shoulder styles from my mom. Showing a little clavicle is always in. And, this dress, available in a black gingham seersucker and a navy daisy print, has a striking, fuss-free off shoulder silhouette. Don’t you hate when off shoulder styles don’t stay put? You won’t have that issue with this dress. This fun and flirty dress stays in place.

Sizing? The dress fits true-to-size. For reference, I’m wearing a size small in both print options (and every other style I’m wearing in this post actually). You can also find the Gibsonlook size guide here.

In addition to the striking silhouette, I love how versatile this must-have is. You can dress this up for a summer soiree (whatever that looks like this year) or pair it with sneakers for a day of running around town. Talking about versatility, you can wear the style on or off the shoulders as well. You pick the vibe, this dress can hold you down. I hope you feel as amazing in it as I do every time I rock it.

In these times, I especially appreciate styles that can work overtime and make you feel good at the same time.

The navy print daisy version of the Economy of Style dress is my favorite for travel. It packs so well and is ready to wear when you unpack it, no ironing needed.

Just like gingham, this navy print is so summer.

Other Gibsonlook Road Trip Collection Favorites

It’s a shame that I won’t be attending my usual white parties this year because the Gibsonlook x Hello Happiness Puff Sleeve Smocked Maxi Dress would be my go-to. Whatever the case, everywhere I wear this light and airy number will be festive.

Who doesn’t love a cute romper? The Gibsonlook x Hello Happiness Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Romper in this gorgeous Coral Canyon color gives me that I’m-on-a-tropical-vacay vibe.

A fit-and-flare silhouette can be such a flattering style. And, the Gibsonlook x DTKAustin Fit and Flare Belted Halter Eyelet Dress gets it so right.

The ruffled skirt is a style staple this summer. The Gibsonlook x Jess Fay Tiered Skirt is a winner. Pair it with the coordinating Gibsonlook x Jess Fay Smocked Detail V Neck Blouse or rock it with a white tee. You simply can’t go wrong with separates this sharp.

I hope you’re as thrilled as I am about the Economy of Style Off the Shoulder Tie Waist Dress and the entire Road Trip collection. Remember to use the code PSYCHE25 for 25% off your purchase. You can see the entire collection HERE. Happy shopping!

Fabulous White Dresses To Wear This Memorial Day

Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of summer, is ahead. I know, it feels different this year. I have every intention, white party or not, to bring out all my favorite white dresses to celebrate. Who’s with me?

Today’s featured dress is a quarantine purchase. I haven’t been shopping a lot, but I’ve given myself permission to snag items I deem irresistible. This dress surpassed that requirement. No surprise, it sold out quickly. It’s still available in black though (see here). I’m rounding up some equally fly options at the end of this post too.

What I’m Wearing:

Eyelet dress (white sold out, available in black) | Fedora | Kendra Scott earrings

In today’s look, I was styled to shoot an Instagram campaign. So, this is a sneak peek. I’m wearing and eyelet embroidered dress that has the best, right-on-trend details. The dress has that super popular prairie vibe and demonstrates that modest fashion can be quite chic and sharp.

Fit? The dress has an oversized fit, which allows for some flexibility with sizing. I’m wearing a size small. I could comfortably fit an XS as well. The dress has a slip, and it’s fairly big as well, so there’s no need to worry about the under layer being tight.

White dresses

I love eyelet dresses (see another favorite here). They can be versatile, easy to dress up or down. This particular dress gives me “I’m fancy” vibes, especially in black. In today’s look, I dressed it down as much as possible with a straw fedora and slide sandals (not photographed).

The Sheer Fashion Trend Spicing Things Up

Sheer is here! Want to show a little skin but not actually show skin? The sheer fashion trend might be for you. This trend, equal parts classy and sexy, is having a moment this year. And, the cool thing about this is there are options for every occasion. I’ll round up some favorite finds at the end of this post. I’m also sharing a top I’ve been loving in today’s post.

Style on the scene

I wore this top for a night out with Bumble BFF recently. The scene was the beautiful rooftop restaurant–Cinder House–at the Four Seasons Hotel. I paired the sheer top with wide leg pants for an upscale look. What I enjoy about sheer styles being trendy is the many ways we can style them in the name of fashion. For example, I could easily wear this same top with high-waisted shorts for a more hip look that would be suitable for any occasion.
