A summer dress and sandals? Isn’t it still February? It’s been uncharacteristically warm, y’all, but I’m so here for it because warm weather style is my favorite. Besides, 70 degree temperatures signal sandals weather, right? Today’s post shares a mixed print look I wore to brunch on a beautiful spring-like day.
Dress (on sale) | Sweater | Sandals (old, new version) | Earrings | Mac “Carmine Rouge” lipstick
The entire look is anchored by the Kate Spade leopard dot tie back dress. It’s on sale online, but I found it for much less in my local Kate Spade outlet store. It was a favorite purchase last summer because the dress, with its fun dots, is so versatile. I’ve worn it with flats on a beach vacation and with heeled sandals for a night out in the city.
For brunch, I decided to do a little spring style print mixing. Want to know my secret for mastering a mix of prints? I prioritize color and scope of print. In this look, for example, both prints have a prominent color in common—white—which ties them together. This combination is seamless as well because the dots are much bolder than the smaller gingham print, which helps keep the overall look balanced.
