Comfort and Confidence: My Go Blog Social Style

Last Saturday, I had the honor of presenting at Go Blog Social, a Kansas City-based conference that made a stop in St. Louis on its 2016 Midwest tour. I was tasked with talking about the art of brand and blogger relationships. In over 8 years of discussing affordable style with you and sharing the brands I enjoy using, I’ve learned some best practices for doing so. The conference was an all-day affair, so my outfit of the day had a couple major demands on it. I wanted to look like a style blogger presenting, but I also wanted to be comfortable enough to sit for long periods and navigate a large space for an entire day. The answer for me? Jeans and Tee! Of course, by jeans and tee, I mean my favorite striped boatneck t-shirt and my right-on-trend denim culottes.

No look is complete without a splash of bold color or a hip mix of prints. I threw on one of my favorite African print head wraps, which always perfectly complements stripes. Remember when I wore it with my striped swimsuit? With a head wrap on, I also didn’t have to worry about my ever-changing fro.

I wore my mid-heel sandals, which are a great alternative to flats when I need comfortable shoes and some height. I could walk in these all day. I’ve worn them here, here, and here.
