Stripes, Red, and Rainbows

Hands down. I live in the coolest and most diverse part of St. Louis. Moving around in my area is always a treat because I’m guaranteed to see things that inspire me. All kinds of inspiration too. Often, style inspiration. A display at Rooster celebrating a momentous Pride weekend got me excited about styling a look that would pop against that backdrop. So, I pulled together some favorites from my wardrobe—a stripe crop top and red midi skirt. Here’s how it all came together.

Top—Forever 21

Skirt—MNG by Mango | similar

Sandals—J.Crew (on sale)

Earrings—Kate Spade

Ring—Gorjana Teagan ring

Watch—Michael Kors

Lip—Mac “Heroine” lipstickMac “Heroine” lip pencil

Blush—NYX powder blush in mocha

Nails—Essie ‘Braziliant’

The J.Crew sandals I’m wearing are the most comfortable sandals ever. They look amazing, too, with their striking crisscrossed ankle strap and bold gold buckles. I hesitated to purchase a pair in black, but this black sandal has been the perfect complement to many looks this summer.

Location: Rooster on South Grand, St. Louis

I often get inspiration for some of my color pairings and print mixes from people, places, and things I see on South Grand. Creative energy can truly come from anywhere.

This red, pleated midi skirt (see the same style at Asos) is one of my favorite buys from the MNG by Mango line available at jcpenney. Get this. I think I purchased it on sale with coupons for about $5 (orig. $80). The line is filled with super chic pieces at affordable prices. The pieces often go on sale, and there’s always a jcp coupon available for additional savings.

I think this outfit looks very french, or what I imagine chic french women are wearing every day. Fabulous as always!
