Fall’s Tweed Trend

Tweed has emerged as a clear trend for fall. Open any magazine’s September issue and you’ll find a spread on tweed. I was wearing a beautiful blue tweed dress on Redbook’s September cover. That dress, totally my style, reminded me that I already owned an equally beautiful tweed jacket in the same color family.

My tweed jacket was a bargain buy in Macy’s about 3 years ago. The jacket fits right in with the modern tweed trend this year because of its hip details like draped lapels and fringe edges.

For today’s look, the tweed jacket is the perfect finishing touch to a casual pairing of a white tank and dark skinny jeans. By the way, these Target jeans fit and wear amazingly well! I have a full review coming up next week, so I’ll tell you more then. If you find yourself in Target, though, try them on. You’ll thank me later.

No look is complete without a fab pair of shoes. My J.Crew Elsie fabric d’Orsay pumps is the pair for this look. The Elsie pump is my favorite shoe at J.Crew. Have you seen the Elsie Hologram d’Orsay? J.Crew has held off on markdowns on that pair, but I’ll be patient and wait.

How do you feel about ear cuffs and ear crawlers? The Kendra Scott Caralyn ear cuffs made me a fan of the style. I got ’em in jewel, which is a combination of teal agate, blue kyocera pearl, and pave crystals. These ear cuffs are the perfect brightening touch to this look.

Another ghost sign sighting in St. Louis. This one, the old Mound City Buggy Company building, is located at the corner of N. Broadway and Cass Ave.
