Beauty by Broxie & The Broxie Makeup Brush Belt

Last December, I met Lauren Wilkinson, a St. Louis-based makeup artist, at a Vincent Longo beauty event I attended at Soft Surroundings. Lauren was there doing makeup. Her style and her own makeup were so magnetic that I plotted to make sure I got in her chair at the event. I lucked up that night, too, and Lauren did my face.

I met up again with Lauren recently at her newly opened Beauty By Broxie Studio in Kirkwood. Lauren has 13 years of experience as a makeup artist and is well sought after by clients celebrating special occasions, from weddings to important photo shoots. Her popularity comes as no surprise because Lauren is a talented artist who is “about the woman not just the face.”

I love her tweed stripe top!

With makeup roots at Estee Lauder, Lauren has amounted extensive experience working for several makeup companies, including Chanel, Lancome, Jo Malone, and Mac. Her intimate knowledge of all these brands has made her a master matchmaker, always mindfully choosing products based on the needs of her client’s skin. Cover FX, though, is a current favorite of hers because of its global shade palette.

Lauren is known for turning heads on the job because of her super fly makeup brush tool belt. When I first complimented her on it, I was so impressed to learn that she makes them herself! After numerous failed searches for a fashionable belt that was easy to clean, Lauren got creative and refashioned construction belts giving life to The Broxie Belt, which she sells on etsy. How chic is the chalkboard tool belt below?
