Starting the New Year in Color and Comfy Shoes

Happy New Year!  I wish you the best that 2014 has to offer and I look forward to extending our conversations about style on a budget in this new year.

Last fall, my wardrobe got dark.  I think I wore more black in fall 2013 than I’ve worn in the last five years.  There’s no time like a brand new year to shift things up in the style department, right?  This year, I’m resolving to wear more bright and cheery color.  I’m starting today too.  Spring colors, and many of spring’s favorite trends actually, can effortlessly be infused into our winter wardrobes right now.

Today, I’m embracing colorful sweaters and the return of the pointy-toe flat.  Yes, the pointy-toe flat is making a comeback this spring and I couldn’t be happier.  Pointy-toe flats are often comfortable and always super chic.

Happy New Year! I definitely need to try and incorporate more color into my wardrobe. It's all black all the time and always has been. A colorful sweater is a great place to start!
