Can you believe we’re almost at the end of 2013? I hope you’ve had an amazing year and that you’re ready to embrace all that 2014 has in store for you.
On New Year’s Eve this year, my plan is to ditch black and sport brights. I found a punchy pink, ponte knit dress in Banana Republic that’ll be perfect for Old Year’s Night. The dress was a steal, too, at only $29 (orig. $98) during the ongoing post-holiday sale at the store. In today’s look, the dress is worn with cobalt blue pumps and a multicolor stone necklace.
Location: Tower Grove Park, St. Louis
Dress—Banana Republic
Earrings—Kate Spade | similar, similar
Necklace—Kate Spade | option
Bracelet—J.Crew Factory
Watch—Michael Kors | similar
Lip—Mac “Punk Couture” lipstick, Mac “Vino” lip pencil
What a beautiful outfit! The bright dress just pops on you! Happy New Year. 🙂
Thanks so much, Mary! Happy New Year!
I love the color of the dress, but I was more interested in your hair! Could you please share how you achieved such a beautiful hairstyle?
Happy New Year!
Aww thanks, Darlene! My hair is the result of wet-set twist-out using my usual Darcy's Botanicals Coconut Lemongrass Transitioning Creme. I also wore the 2-stand twists for 2 days before loosing them out.
love the hair, too. you do a great job in creating hair styles. my hair is fine and thin and straight so I could not even try to copy. 🙂 happy new year.
I appreciate you saying that! Happy New Year!!
Your hair always looks so good. Seriously, what is your secret?
Love the outfit too. The pink and blue make such a nice combo. Gorgeous!!
Thank you, Kahleel! I have a few posts detailing my hair regimen. Check out the "hair" tab if you'd like to know about my favorite products, tools, and techniques. I usually have to moisturize and twist (flat twists when my hair is blown out and two-strand twists when it's shrunken) my hair every night before bed to maintain a style like the one in this picture.
Happy New Year!
