Tweed + Stripes

Tweed, the nubby woolen fabric,  is trending this Fall, which means there are lots of options for we bargain shoppers.  Tweed items, from jackets to shoes, have been popping up in all our favorite stores at varied price points.  If you like the look of tweed, you’ll surely find the perfect item for yourself.

For brunch yesterday, I topped a basic empire waist, stripe dress (see it worn casually in Casual Friday) with a  tweed jacket I found on sale in Macy’s recently for $27 (orig. $99.50).  I was drawn to this jacket because of its woven blues, open front styling, and hip frayed edges.  The sale price was an added bonus.

Here’s the finished look.

An arm party of 2 🙂

Thanks, Shantile! I wanted to show off the neckline and standing collar on the jacket, but it so chilly that the scarf was necessary.
