Looking Back, Looking Forward is back. I started the Looking Back, Looking Forward series in 2007 because I think it’s always important to take stock. And, Wednesday, the middle of the work week, seemed like the perfect day to stop, and take a moment to look back and look forward.
The series was initially dedicated to featuring a vintage or modern classic piece from my wardrobe. It has since, however, also been used to show remakes of older looks whether that be modernizing an older item by infusing current trends or just wearing an outfit in a new way.
So, today’s Looking Back, Looking Forward feature takes my Kay Unger denim dress and makes it Fall-2011-ready.
Here’s how I first wore the Kay Unger dress when I bought it at the end of Summer 2010.
Today, the Kay Unger dress gets new life. It is worn with a bright pink blazer from H&M, and the Missoni for Target infinity scarf. Patent croc leather pumps, an old favorite, complete the look. You may also notice that the dress is shorter now. I had it altered because I prefer my dresses to fall just above the knee.
|Since it’s pouring today, I pulled out the DKNY umbrella
that I received after participating in a Nordstrom Fits America
event last weekend. See photos from the event on Facebook.
