You’ve already read about how I compounded coupons to score two designer dresses for $50 and free shipping in Shopping SmartBargains. Well, I received my order 4 days (3 business days) after placing it, which was impressive.
The Verdict: My order had a 50% success rate, that is, one dress worked and the other didn’t.
What Worked: Marc New York Jungle Abstract Belted Dress. SmartBargains price: $33.49 (retail:$188).
This dress looks luxe in person and it fits well. The abstract print that blends white, green, blue, and grey is an attention-grabber. I wore the dress yesterday with a cardigan and it served as a conversation starter all day long.
What Didn’t Work: The BCBGeneration Dark Slate Layered Bodice Dress. SmartBargains price: $22.49 (Retail: $128).
I did take a chance when ordering this dress because BCBGeneration seemingly targets a younger audience. I love the print and the style of dress in person, but the fit wasn’t quite right. The dress was too short for my taste. In addition, the waist was too tight while the top of the dress was too big. So, it didn’t work on my silhouette very well.
I still have this dress and may gift it to a younger family member instead of returning it. You see, I would have to pay for the return shipping, which would quickly erode the $20 I spent on the dress.
Cute picks! Where did you pick up those grey pumps? I'm in the market for some, and I really like yours.
Thanks, @Jane! These grey wedges are by Jessica Simpson and I found them in Marshalls. I actually bought these at least a year ago, but I've spotted the same shoe in grey and a few other nude colors in several Marshalls stores right now.
You look like a doll. Very pretty. I love that second picture, and the shoes you have on in the third picture, I want 'em. 🙂
I like the first dress better than the 2nd…it fits you so much better and the colours are beautiful!
I like both dresses, but the first one is really nice!
Very cute dresses.
That abstract dress is gorgeous! I love it when a bold print can come together without coming off as too "loud".
