Shopping SmartBargains

I’ve found some amazing deals on SmartBargains.  Tahari pumps for less than $30.  Matty M dresses under $20.  Great deals.

A couple recent scores on SmartBargains reminded me of how easy it is to maximize savings while shopping this discount online retailer.

1.  Email alerts.  I am signed up for email blasts from SmartBargains.  I occasionally browse the website, but when I receive emails advertising 50% off sale prices, I definitely browse the site.

2. Compounding discounts.  Any deal can be made sweeter.  SmartBargains is always running special offers.  Some of them are in plain sight and some require a little searching.  While an extra 50% off a BCBG dress priced at $44.98 is a great offer, an additional 10% off that marked down price in addition to free shipping is an excellent offer.

When I shop Smartbargains.com (and other online retailers), I always do a google search for any available coupons. RetailMeNot is a reliable favorite that usually appears in searches.

From the available coupons on RetailMeNot, the one below seemed to apply to my purchase.

Let’s examine the details of the offer below.

My purchase price after the 50% discount was less than a $100, but I decided to try to use it anyway. It worked!  Apparently, the coupon code was validated because my order exceeded $100 at the SB prices prior to the 50% discount.  The result?  An additional 10% off and free shipping!  Free shipping on SB is always critical, too, because shipping costs start at $9.95.

Here is a snapshot of my shopping cart.  A Marc New York and BCBG dress on the way to my house for $50.

$50 for 2 dresses??? OMG..I think you beat me in my own bargain game! WOW!!! Smart bargains is awesome, they actually own Ruelala! So I've noticed what didn't sell on RLL ended up on SB for an even better price. Sadly my size is almost never available at SB so I rarely check that site! Great tips and I'll definitely check out SB this week…maybe even today 😉

@Brovoe Runway: Right! Good catch on the Ruelala inventory spilling over to SB. I've been trying to keep a close watch of these types of trends. For example, I've been fascinated by many of the discount retailers (Bluefly, Last Call by Neiman Marcus, and others) selling via stores on eBay.

Definitely check out SB. That endless summer sale was supposed to end yesterday, but they may extend it, and will probably introduce a new one later.

I like SB and Overstock. If I find something in, say Macy's, I'll go there and look for it cheaper.

@Sing: What a great idea, Sing!

@ClosetConfections: Thanks! And, yes O.Co (as they wanna be called now) is another have.

@Shasie: Say what now? This is a great time to get to know them, girl. Endless summer sale is sizzling right now.
