Fast Fashion Forward: Lace Up Boots

The heat wave is finally over!  I don’t think I could’ve survived another week of temperatures above 100 degrees.  During the heat wave, I found myself wishing fall was here and that got me thinking about fall fashion of course.

I’ve been spotting fierce and fabulous boots appearing in my favorite stores.  And, they are just too haute to pass by despite the sizzling hot temperatures outside at the moment.

Lace up boots in particular have been demanding my attention.  It all started with some ankle boots by Steve Madden that I spotted in Marshalls.  Ankle boots are always tricky for me because of my shorter legs, but I enjoy seeing them others.

I then peaked some tall, 1″ block heel, laced up beauties also by Steve Madden in DSW.  Can you say instant attraction?  The calves on these fab boots are a tad too wide for me, though, or they would’ve been home with me now.

My boot collection (and by collection, I mean my 3 pairs of boots) is basic, comprising only my favorite classic leather boots.  For Fall 2011, I want a little bit of edge, and lace up boots seem to be the perfect baby step in that direction.

If I can’t find the right lace up boots, I may explore studs.

I spotted this next pair of studded boots in TJ Maxx last weekend. They are by Michael Kors and had a TJ price of $139.99.  My size wasn’t available though.  Operation find these boots in TJ Maxx is on!

Great finds! I will be on the lookout for some basic, casual black boots in the Fall. I bought a pair of Nine West boots last winter but they are clearly meant for formal occasions. Any tips on where to look? I have a very small budget!

Hey @onelifetoeat: The discount department stores are already rolling out their boots and the prices are easy on the budget. You should definitely check out Marshalls and TJ Maxx. DSW has their boots out now too. I found a great casual and very comfortable black pair of boots in DSW last fall. They are by b.o.c. and look quite chic. Good luck with your search!

You know, once I get back to the land of shopping, one of my first stops would be to check out the Steve Madden boots. Thanks as always for the heads-up.

Love the steve madden boots!! I have been eyeing those lorra boots for some time now!! I went to DSW a while back and saw them…but I figured I could buy them online for cheaper. I've had no luck finding the cognac color online for a lesser price…but I did find the black ones online for a lesser price. Lawd knows I dont need anymore black boots lol!

Oooohhh, those M. Kors boots are now on my radar, too. I remember them from a past season (last year, maybe?).

After reading your thoughts on what your're looking for in your next pair of boots coupled with the S. Madden ones that you were eyeing, I immediately thought about a pair that you may consider looking at: Vince Camuto Fivvy

I saw them in the September issue of Lucky, but they were out last year and you may be able to find them online at a discounted price. I don't know if any changes have been made to the boot, but it still seems to have a lace-up/buckle combo look.

My boot collection is also small (4 pairs) due to my calves. Recently I found 2 pairs of tall boots at Daffy's, which I bought regardless of price b/c they fitted my calves. Ladies if you have wide calves look out for boots by Marina Rinaldi at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, DSW and Daffys. They are made for our calves… we don't have to wear mid calf boots for the rest of our lives.

@Peacheslcg: You got to! You also must send me the pics so I can share on here.

@Passion by Luv: Right! I just can't stop looking at boots right now. So many fabulous choices.

@Cherrie J: I love your strategy! I also tried to find them online, but had no luck at all. It is such a pretty boot. I feel you on the black boots…

@Sing: I got excited by the visual of a leopard print bootie. Sounds fantastic. I also want a flat lace up boot. Or some wedges.

@Style Journey: Ooh..sounds nice, especially the purple ankle booties.

@Shasie: Right! They are so haute!

@Kish: Me too, Kish! Thanks for suggestion! I will surely check them out!

@Losing and Eating Healthy: Thanks so much for tipping us about the Marina Rinaldi boots!!! I always have the opposite problem, which has limited my boot collection as well.
