If you’ve been reading about the key fashion trends for Fall, you’ve probably noticed that leopard flats appear on most must-have lists. This is good news for us animal-print-loving, budget shoppers because it means there will be lots of choices at various price points making it easy for us to find the right pair.
Admittedly, I have purchased several pairs of animal print flats in recent years, but for various reasons I have gotten rid of them. So, last year, I tried to replace my old flats with the style below from Banana Republic. But, the shoes sold out in my size in every store I visited and online.
Last weekend, I visited the Banana Republic Factory Store to return a t-shirt dress that just didn’t work on me, and spotted the flats on sale there for 69.99 plus an additional 40% off. I tried to contain my excitement at first because I didn’t want to be too disappointed if my size wasn’t available. But, it was!
A sharp and sleek flat like this pair is such an essential. Here’s how I might wear the flats to work and on the weekend right now.
Work. Print mixing lite. In my mind, animal print shoes are neutral so pairing them with a tiered polka dot top, ecru blazer with navy grosgrain ribbon detail, and black cropped pants didn’t even require a second thought.

Weekend. These sleek shoes would look great with anything from a white tee paired with jeans to an LBD. So, with my tiered BCBG t-shirt dress, they add a chic and comfortable finish.

Have a wonderful weekend!
fabulous shoes, I absolutely love these!
I have a pair of leopard print flats (mine are from Banana Republic's kid sister store, Old Navy) that I LOOOOOVVVVEEE! I wear them so much more than I ever thought I would – somehow leopard translates to a neutral to me, so they get mixed and matched with a lot.
Cute flats.
I just picked up a pair of BR flats, and I've found the quality to be pretty great. Would you say the same for the calf-hair version?
For some reason, I'm kind of afraid of animal print… so even if I admire it in stores, I never actually purchase it. Your tip of treating them like a neutral would probably help with styling them. I'll have to think on it. Lookin' really cute, as always! 🙂
I love, love, love those shoes with that BCBG dress– I think they give a wild flash to an outfit that otherwise is about comfortable style.
Love these looks and congrats on your move!
I definitely need to find a pair of leopard flats, not because they are trending for fall, but because they are absolutely adorable and versatile.
