Off-Price Retail Shopping in NYC: Burlington Coat Factory

I usually don’t visit Burlington Coat Factory stores. But, I stumbled into a local store in Lexington recently and was surprised by the store’s selection of dresses by Nine West, Taylor, and Calvin Klein.

I was early for a dinner date with some friends in NYC and there was a Burlington Coat Factory right across the street from where we were meeting.  So, I decided to stop in and spotted the most gorgeous, tribal print, strapless dress by Taylor.

Picture this.   I am all dressed for dinner, but scurrying to try on clothes in a Burlington fitting room. I am glad I did though. The Taylor dress with its captivating print fit.

Dress—Taylor via Burlington Coat Factory,
Belt—Dooney & Bourke via resale shop, Cardigan—Gap,
Shoes—boc via DSW, Necklace—H&M

With its fresh print and flattering silhouette, this dress can easily be styled for anything from a casual affair to the office. I traveled back to Lexington in the above outfit.

Taylor dresses have an exceptional quality and tend to look more expensive than their retail values.  This dress was $39.99 in Burlington.

Flashback

Here is an older, tribal print dress from the Gap Outlet.  I outgrew this dress and had to part with it.  The Taylor dress is the perfect replacement for this old favorite.

Taylor dresses are now at Burlington??? Where have I been? We don't have any in the city, but I'll be sure to check it out near my parent's house next time I go! They've really come a long way!

I'm not a big patron of Burlington either, but since they've recently built one in my area and with your success in finding this gorgeous dress…I may have to take a visit!

What I love even more than the print on the dress are the pops of blue and orange!

@Andi: I've been impressed by the items there lately. In addition to dresses, the designer denim collection is extensive and the prices are unbelievably low in BCF.

    @CAPIS: Thanks!

@Sing: So, I see it is not just me. My strategy right now is hit the dresses and exit. The home goods collection there seems interesting too though.

@B.Inspired. Yup. And, nice ones too! I was pleasantly surprised.

@Jane Squared: Thanks. At this stage of my wardrobe building, these kinds of styles are needed.

@Kish: Yes, you should definitely give BCF a try. Surprises could be in store.

@Shasie: You do? I will surely play close attention to your BCF finds then!

@Aforadienne: Wonderful! I have passed by the home goods and several things certainly caught my attention.
