Brightly-Colored Work Outfit

Today is such a beautiful day that I said goodbye to my darker (black and grey) work clothing and embraced bright, intense color.

The Loft zip pocket dress in a beautiful orange color dubbed “red passion” is paired with a peach cardigan.  A blue skinny belt adds a splash of clashing color that works well with the orange.  Tan flats and a python print bag complete the look.

This spring, I am a huge fan of the clashing color combinations trend.  I wish I had a turquoise cardigan.  That would be the perfect topper for this dress, right?

Loving the colors! I wish I was bold/brave enough to do a red/orange top with a magenta skirt. I tried that outfit on last night and LOVED it with some nude heels… but I would never, ever wear that to work. Maybe out… not to work!

Great color palette. I bought a dress in that color (tangerine) and a cardigan as well from Target. Love how you mix the softer peach orange with the bold tangerine color. Cute look!

I bought that dress too. Can't wait to wear it! I was so excited that the dress wasn't too short. Sometimes Loft dresses are just too flashy for school. 🙂 Purchased a soft pink cardigan to go with mine.

    You look great!

Oh by the way, noticed on the Loft website that the dress comes in black too. It would be a workhorse to have also. Hmmmm…watching the sales.

@Sing: I think this is one of my favorite colors this spring.

@Taylor: Your outfit sounds amazing. I must say that I have grown braver in my choices for work. I've been more comfortably stretching out a bit 🙂

@L-of Avid Accents: So true. When I spotted the peach cardigan in the Talbots Outlet, I knew it would create a nice monochromatic look with the Loft dress.

@Budget Chic: Thanks! I have been spotting really affordable dresses in this color too. Most recently, I saw a strappy Calvin Klein dress in Marshalls in the same color.

@Stacey: Nice! Yes, this dress is a 'decent' length. I am only 5'4" and I, too, find many of the Loft dresses too short. What is up with that? I am so tempted to get the black one as well! My local store has so many of the black ones, though, that I can afford to wait for an unbelievable sale to purchase it.

Hello! I totally agree with you…I have the same dress and having been keeping my eyes open for a (longer) turquoise cardi to pair with it. Can we say that great (educators') minds think alike? 🙂

Your pink cardigan goes very well with your red dress too!
In fact I have a similar pink cardigan (though mine's handknitted) and I am surprised with how many diferent colours it suits.
