Looking Back, Looking Forward: Gap Striped Cowlneck T

According to the Gap, its cowlneck tee is “the perfect blend of style and ease.”  I agree.  This tee is classically chic and can easily anchor looks for varying occasions.

I was initially torn between the featured tee and another Gap top—the stripe, boatneck sweater (seen in Casual Friday).  So, I bought them both to assess their fit within my existing wardrobe.  Needless to say, the tee below won because of its “style and ease.” I returned the sweater.

For casual looks, the tee is paired with jeans and also worn as a a tunic with leggings.

Jeans—Dress Barn

Leggings—Mossimo for Target

Belt—The Limited

Bag—Gap (Sum ’03)

For work, the tee is worn with a print skirt (as seen in Mixing Prints), a khaki skirt, and a black skirt.

Black skirt—Banana Republic
Khaki skirt—Banana Republic
Belts—The Limited
Pumps—Adrienne Vittadini via Marshalls
Boots—Franco Sarto via Marshalls

You're so right @Elle. This style top is widely availably this season.

Thanks @Melissa. I really enjoy the exercise of restyling a basic item. Chronicling the experience helps a great deal on those days when I just can't get it together in the morning.

Thanks for stopping by @Elaine. Stripes certainly are and I am sucker for them.

I totally was going to get this top with the Gap Give and Get 30% off but put it off. Now I regret my decision. A woman can't have enough striped tops and you show how versatile and flattering it is. Very cute on you!
