Argh! Well, I realized one of my worst nightmares yesterday—MY COMPUTER CRASHED! I took it to a service center, and hope to get some news about its condition in a week.
I do back up on an external hard drive, but not nearly as frequently as I should. So, Economy of Style may take a brief hiatus while I wrap my head around this disaster.
In the meantime, I am researching Macs, for I am now finished with PCs (of course, a long dreadful history precedes this decision). If you use a Mac, do let me know of your experience(s).
My HP crashed for the second time in six months which is what made me decide to get a Mac and I am so glad that I did. Hope you are back to blogging soon.
Oh dear, what a pain.
I don’t use a Mac, I’ve a laptop and I’m glad with it.
Well, we will miss you, and we will look forward for your posts.
Keep going dear, and take care.
xoxo
I’ve always used Macs. Feel free to contact me via email if you have questions: encoyne at hotmail dot com
I’m sorry lady, I’m having problems with my digital camera, I think its dying so my post will not be as frequent, until I can buy me a new camera. I use a MAC at work and its great!! They are expensive though, I look into getting one myself and the cheapest system they had was $800! You can get a nice system for around $1300 though. MAC are designed for graphics and multimedia so you should have no worries if you decided to upgrade to a new OS altogether. I would however load Firefox, I don’t like using Safari.
I have a mac book and I love love loveeeeee it. I made the big switch last summer and don’t anticipate switching back to windows anytime soon. And these days macs are pretty compatible with most things so its not the same headache that they were before. Also if you compare what you are getting for the price of your mac to what getting all of that on most windows based brands you will see that mac is actually reasonably priced.

Good luck with everything. I need actually buy an external hard drive.
La Belette Rouge: Awwww man, that is terrible news about your HP. But, I am glad to hear that you made a smooth transition to Mac.
Seeker: Thanks so much. I hope to be back in the swing of things soon.
Enc: I just knew you would be a Mac user š Thanks for the email, I will definitely email you as I formulate concrete questions. My issues have always been concerned with compatibiity. I rely heavily on my reference manager and my statistical software. But, I am learning so much about how compatibility is not as big an issue as in earlier years.
Budget Chic. Thank ya. I am sorry to hear about your cam. I hope you get a new one soon. I’ve been anxious to see how you would follow up those 5 1/2 inch pumps!
Thanks for the suggestion. I, too, have been using firefox forever. Nothing compares!
Diva: Thanks for that! I am learning of the strides regarding compatibility. As for the cost, I am sold. My current laptop is a replacement that I bought less than a year ago. What a waste! I am so threw with PCs.
