Spring may have been fashionably late this year, but beach season will be here before we know it. So, let’s get ready! I’ve been rounding up some of my beach day essentials while they’re on sale at J.Crew Factory. Listen, J.Crew Factory is a go-to for swimwear in all types of colors, styles, and silhouettes. Today, I’m sharing 7 must-haves I keep ready for beach day fun.
Beach Day Essentials:
1. Flattering Swimsuit
I think it’s important to find swimwear that makes you feel confident. For me, that’s always a retro, super stylish one piece. While bikinis get all the love, I think one-piece suits are so much more stylish. And, there is a perfect one-piece for every body.
I was immediately drawn to this particular style (shop it in 8 different colors here) because of its colorful stripes, but the sexy scoopback detail is what eventually won me over. Don’t you just love it when you find swimsuits that accentuate the things you love about your body?
Once I put on a one-piece swimsuit I feel good in, my only concern becomes having fun in the sun.
2. Straw Hat
I always pack a straw hat when heading to the beach. It’s a fashionable solution when the humidity hits your hair. It also keeps the sun out of your face. From floppy hats to Panama hats, the style options are plentiful too. No surprise, I’m a fan of a sharp-looking fedora (shop mine here).
3. Throw-on Tee
I love pieces I can just grab to layer with and have fun styling. When I’m at the beach, that’s always a lightweight tee. This particular v-neck t-shirt is a favorite because of its slim fit. I have it in white (see me wearing it here and here). It’s available in lots of colors (shop them all here).
4. Cool Shorts
Shorts are a summer staple for me. And, a lightweight, breathable pair is essential for beach days. I found the perfect color, fabric, and cut in these pom pom shorts (find them in 3 colors here).
They’re easy to slip on when you need to run inside the beach bar or restaurant because they have a drawstring waist. They also scream summer because of their linen/cotton blend.
5. Cool Cover-up
I love cover-ups as options to showcase your style when chilling by the sea. While I have a few classic cover-ups (like this and this), I also love reimagining some of my wardrobe basics as cover-ups as well. And, my tie-waist, linen white shirt serves as a fabulous cover-up.
This one is a no-brainer. Sunnies are essentials all spring and summer long for the UV protection. If you’re going to rock a pair, it ought to protect you while packing serious style. This pair, with its stunning mirrored lenses, is seriously stylish (shop them here).
7. Slip-on shoes
When facing sand, sun, and water, flip-flops are the best choice. This particular pair (shop them here) is durable and adorable.
