Voluminous trousers made a huge comeback earlier this year. And, I’m thrilled to see the silhouette holding strong for fall as well. There’s just something so bold and powerful about super wide pants.

I purchased today’s featured pair of wide-leg pants during the spring (see them worn before here). They’re made of a super cozy knit that I love. And, if wide-leg pants aren’t comfortable, what’s the point, right?
With some minor styling tweaks, I’m making these pants work for fall. They come with a self-tie belt in the same stunning stripe pattern. For fall, I’m losing that belt, so I could introduce more texture (and color) with a leather belt. In today’s look, I used a skinny belt in a striking cognac color that nicely accents black and white.
Since the pants are so voluminous, I’m still sticking with fitted tops to create an overall balanced outfit. For fall, though, I’m swapping my off-the-shoulder styles for high-neck tops. This mock neck tank (also available in other colors) from Madewell is on mega sale right now. It’s simple but fabulous.
As it gets colder, I envision pairing these pants with a fitted long-sleeve tee or sweater. A fitted turtleneck would be especially fly.
