I donated all my trench coats this year with the intention of replacing them with one staple trench. So, I’ve been eying the J.Crew Striped Trech Coat (now on sale) and the Banana Republic Belted Cotton Trench (also on sale) as options. I’ve decided, however, to see how long I could go without actually feeling like I needed a trench. And, the way the weather has been, I’ve been reaching for my denim jacket. It’s been the perfect layer too.

Remember my How to Wear a Wrap Dress as a Cardigan post? Well, I finally wore that dress as intended recently. I needed a light layer that day for coverage and to also dress down the wrap a bit. My denim jacket was perfect for doing all that. By the way, my Gap jacket is about 8 years old. I swear it gets better with age.
If you caught my Hoop Dreams post, you already know that I’m all about the hoop earring trend this spring. My earrings are another super old item from my wardrobe. They’re a pair of 14kt gold earrings that I bought in TJ Maxx many years ago, back when the price of gold wasn’t so high. If you’re searching for a fashion pair, I love J.Crew’s Antique-Gold Hoops.
I considered choosing a pair of print shoes to mix things up a bit. I decided, however, to wear my blue suede shoes instead. My Luichiny sandals pack some punch, though, with their suede straps and sexy lace up vamp.

I love a good denim jacket. Your right they do get better with age. Love the outfit.
