Yesterday was bright and sunny, but around a mere 9 degrees when I was out and about. Brrr! I decided to channel the cheeriness of the sun by wearing a couple bright layers.

Wrap coats are a huge trend this winter. No surprise either. They’re sophisticated and cozy. They’re also timeless. I’m wearing an old favorite, a bold purple wrap coat by Calving Klein. I bought it over four years ago in Marshalls.
Since I was wearing a dress under my coat, I kept my legs warm with a pair of opaque tights and a polished pair of ankle boots.
To add an additional block of color and some additional warmth, I finished this wintry day look with my mustard yellow infinity scarf.
Wrap Coats:
Yes! I have a purple pea coat! It makes the cold weather a little more bearable. Love the robe coat suggestions.
I never understood why winter always means dark and dreary colors, especially here in NYC. I have a staple black coat, but I also have a red, green and blue winter coat as well.. I need color in my life! LOL
I’m a year late discovering your post, but I’m in love with these boots! Are they black or navy? Can you tell me the style name? I must hunt them down. I love your bold colors. I wear the same. Life is too short for all neutrals. I’m subscribing!

Hey April. Indeed! These boots are black. They’re a mix of black leather/snake print leather. They’re the Naturalizer “Harding” ankle boots. Here are a few sizes still available on 6pm: http://bit.ly/2Aq8oDS
And one of those sizes is MINE!! Ordered. Snake skin is my weakness. And that zipper. They are basically my perfect boot. I would buy them in all the colors. I’m actually going to paint the front of the boot navy since that is what I’m really after and haven’t found anywhere. I have more black boots than anyone needs. I’m tempted to buy a second pair and paint the front red. Thanks so much!
