Brunch in Black and White

Yesterday, my husband and I went to Tree House, our favorite place for Sunday brunch and the best vegan brunch in St. Louis. Want to try vegan food in the area? Check out my favorite restaurants in this Vegan Guide to St. Louis published for Mode.

We were out celebrating an important milestone, so I got dressed up. My look was anchored by black and white separates with interesting details. The H&M top, for example, features an embroidered tulle with a jersey lining. The black skirt, now on sale at Ann Taylor, is a georgette skirt with a romantic sheer overlay.

Special occasions call for special jewelry. I wore my all-time favorite earrings, the Kendra Scott Kaki baguette earrings in platinum drusy. This is one of the more expensive pieces from the Kendra Scott line, but worth every penny. The drusy stones on the Kaki earrings are breathtaking. And, guess what? The earrings are now on sale.

I wore a burgundy hat from H&M to add a beautiful pop of color. A hat was also a good option since my blowout was about ready to be washed out. The hair at the front is a twist-out from a set of two-strand twists with bantu knots at the ends.

I relied on a few other favorite accessories to complete the look—my J.Crew Elsie jacquard pumps in raspberry and my Chameleon Bags clutch made with stunning African textiles.
