Peter Som’s collection for Kohl’s hit stores earlier this month. This collaboration is only the fourth one in Kohl’s DesigNation program that brings high-end designer collections to Kohl’s stores at affordable prices. I was intrigued by the Peter Som collection from the moment I learned that it was inspired by the laid-back luxury of St. Barths, a tiny island near my homeland of St. Kitts.
About two weeks after the collection launched, I finally had a chance to explore it in-store. No worries, though, most of the items were still stocked in all sizes. The entire collection is now 25% off too!
After one visit to the fitting room, the above three items emerged as favorites because they look luxe and fit well. The printed shift dress, for example, is silky and has lots of movement. It’s totally a twirl-worthy dress! After seeing these items, I believe I would also like the mixed print dress and palm leaf dress, though not available in-store, because they are similarly constructed.
Going into Kohl’s, the striped maxi dresses were favorite picks. They are, however, made of a very lightweight rayon/spandex blend that’s somewhat clingy and offers little support. As a result, I would probably only wear this dress on or around the beach. They are so beautiful though!
P.S. I’m only 5’4″ and the length of the maxi dresses is perfect for me with flats.
Taller women, then, may find these dresses somewhat short.
Have you shopped the Peter Som for Kohl’s collection? What are your favorites?
