I found a lace peplum top by Cynthia Steffe on clearance in Marshalls recently. It was only $20, a price reflecting a significant discount from its original $128 retail price. The top is completely sheer and cream in color.
When I saw the top on the sale rack, I immediately envisioned wearing it with leather pants or a leather pencil skirt. Lace and leather! Apparently, I’m warming up to the faux leather trend for the first time ever. Have you seen faux leather appearing even in Target? A faux leather detail high-low top and faux leather panel leggings caught my attention there on a recent trip.
In today’s post, I’m wearing the new lace top with black skinny pants. A complementary arm party and necklace add interest. Pops of yellow from the sandals and clutch break up the black and cream combination.

The accessories are fab, and I adore the peplum-y look with the skinnies.
Thanks, Lisa!
I am loving your lace top, so pretty!
Lucky find, right? Thanks, Tara!
Nice!
Thanks for stopping by!
You look so pretty and chic, and the accessories really are fantastic. You look really happy, to boot. This is great look all-around!

Aww thanks, Tara! I was actually laughing about something here…can't remember what…my photographer is a riot.
You look great in this feminine and casual outfit. I would love to see the botanical garden in St Louis. It looks beautiful there.
Thanks, Van! Oh my gosh, you would love botanical garden in STL. It's so expansive. I discover a new beautiful spot every time I visit.
I love everything about this outfit, down to those beautiful bracelets! What a great steal on the top, too! =)

Thanks, Amber! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend as well!
I love the outfit. Super cute. I have those shoes too, just bought them. How are they? They seem comfy from my first try.

Thanks, Kahleel. That's great…I love these sandals. I bought a 1/2 size larger (got an 8 1/2 instead of my usual size 8) to get the right fit. I've found them mostly comfortable. One of the buckles (on my right foot only) was slightly uncomfortable after the first time wearing the shoes, but fortunately, that has gone away. I hope you enjoy your shoes!
what great detail shots! love the lace peplum! super pretty look!
