Last Saturday, I wore this outfit to a concert at the Peabody Opera House in downtown St. Louis. I was striving for a retro chic look with the dots and pearls. To counter the “sweetness” of the outfit, a snakeskin clutch and belt, and python print wedges were added.
I purchased the J.Crew dress to wear to the wedding of a hip friend in a few months. I’ve got cool plans to jazz it up. Polka dots are always fun to play with, right? The dress screams versatility, so you’ll probably see it featured here many times before the wedding.

Love the belted look. You've given me an idea on how to style my polka dot dress. Did I mention that I get so much style inspiration from your posts?

Oh how I love polka dots! Great dress, lovely styling.
Thanks. And, yes, polka dots are irresistible, right?
I can see you rocking this so many different ways! It looks fab on you!
Definitely! It's such an easy dress to work with because of the silhouette and simplicity.
Retro Chic! I love it, regardless of how you try to spin it. You personal style image comes shining through. Relaxed and Refined.

GORGEOUS DRESS–I almost pulled the trigger on getting this–you're making me more tempted. 🙂 you look fantastic!
Girl…I held out after trying it on the first time, but the additional discount was just the nudge I needed. No regrets since getting it.
It's a beautiful dress! And I love how you've worn your hair.
Thanks, Terri! It was so hot and humid that evening that I had to pull the hair back because I didn't know what it would do once hit with the elements. Ha.
You look so First Lady- Mrs. Obama in your dress! Nice look.
Yes, this kind of classic and polished look is very Michelle O. She is certainly a style icon of mine. Thanks for stopping by!
Beautiful dress! I love the accessories you've worn with it, especially that bright yellow belt 🙂
I wouldn't have been able to save this dress for the wedding either. Love the long strand of pearls with it – cant wait to see you change it up for a big event 🙂
Right! And, I don't like to have items in my closet that I'm not wearing regularly. I'm really excited to style this dress right through the winter 🙂

Just received this dress on poshmark and it's completely see through! Even when I wear nude undergarments. Did you wear a slip or something? Thanks so much!
I just wore nude undergarments, Krista. Even though the dress is lined, it is indeed a tad sheer, but I never wore a slip.
