This morning, I helped facilitate a mock job fair for participants in the Pathways to Success program at Connections to Success (the umbrella organization for Dress for Success in St. Louis).
Since I had to conduct interviews and such, I dressed up a bit more than I would normally on a Friday. I always get assigned a particular hotel chain, so my look was classic but chic.
A snapshot of the details in this outfit. There were a lot of things going on—bold black/white print with a subtle ombre effect, teal cardigan, leopard sash, and spotted nails.
Dress—Claude Brown c/o Daffy’s (B/W A-line alternative)

That is a fabulous look. The cardigan highlights everything that is great about the dress, and I love the gold belt instead of the expected blue or black.
Looks good i even like the pattern mixing,but on a side note your hair is looking GOOD!Are you still using the Dove products?
@Lavern: Thanks! This was one of my amazing Daffy's finds while in NYC.
@AngelatheCreativeDive: Thanks! I had been limiting my options because of the bold print, so I was surprised and pleased that the leopard sash blended in well.
@CAPIS: Thanks!
@Andi: I appreciate it!
@LocalCeleb: Thanks. The dress is a fave. I need to wear it more though.
@Shasie: How wonderful, Shasie! These organizations do such amazing and meaningful work!
@Kristen: Thanks, Kristen! I love the way teal works with black and white.
@Anonymous: Pattern mixing is too much fun and is helping me discover new possibilities in my wardrobe. Thanks re: the hair! I plan to continue using the Dove leave-in. This week, my hair was styled with my usual Darcy's Botanicals products though. Darcy's B is my favorite natural haircare line.
I love this outfit and i heart that you're a fashion blogger volunteering your passion/interest/talent for Dress for Success. I'm a constant lurker on this blog, but I just wanted to say that you're an excellent role model, especially for an academic-in-training
@Lauren: Aww thanks! That means a lot to me. I've always admired the work done at Dress for Success, so I'm so thrilled to finally work with them. When I initially signed up as a volunteer, I couldn't even imagine all the opportunities I've since been afforded and the many rewarding experiences I've gained.
