Shopping Macy’s One Day Sale

Last month, I won a $25 Macy’s gift card at the Show Me The Blog conference in St. Louis.  I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to maximize the value of the gift card.  So, I’ve been scouting sales in Macy’s.

On Monday, I stumbled into Macy’s, and the store was preparing for its One Day Sale, which is officially today.   Most of the sale items, however, had already been marked down in the system on the day I was in the store.

I picked up the Rachel Roy Isadora dress priced at $119, but when I scanned it at a price machine, it was $37.50!  Say what?  I used my $25 gift card on that dress and spent an additional $12.50 plus tax to take it home.

What I didn’t know was if I had waited one day, I could’ve saved an additional $10 with this Macy’s coupon for $10 off a $25 or more sale purchase.  If you’ve been watching for sales at Macy’s, this is the time to move!  Be sure to take the coupon with you.

Dress—Rachel Roy “Isadora”

Looking Back, Looking Forward

Today is also Wednesday, and hence time for Looking Back, Looking Forward.  So, let’s look forward at a few alternative looks I envisioned when deciding to purchase the dress.  I plan to wear the dress casually, but I like that with a few changes, it can be made work-ready.

Cardigan—Gap

Cardigan—H&M

Blazer—Banana Republic

Planning to check out the sale?  Already checked out the sale?  What are you shopping for?

    @Rynetta PhD: Thanks!

@Sing: Thanks, girl. $19.99 for a sheath? That is a hot find right there. Talking about inspiration, I just bought some of those leopard loafers after seeing you sport your pair earlier this week.

@LocalCeleb: Right. Versatile pieces make it so easy to do that too.

@Anon: Rachel Roy dubbed this color-clay. It is such a pretty coral shade. Thanks re:TJ Maxx Maxx Find win! I was so excited!

@Andi: Thanks! I knew this one had to come home with me at first sight 🙂

@Andrea: It's funny you ask that. I noticed that the dress had a "Reclaim Recycle" tag on it, which meant it was manufactured with eco-friendly materials. Apparently, the dress is made of 100% recycled polyester. Who knew?

High Heels & Good Meals: Thanks. It was a lucky find. I'm glad I stumbled into the store early, too, because I heard that the dress is now sold out online earlier today.

@Just Patience: Thanks! Will surely check out your giveaway too.

@Kenya: Really…how cool! I just love when I can identify clothing that I spot on TV, especially low budget pieces. Thanks for letting me know!

@MotorCityMoxie: Cool. That's a good sign, that a piece can hang all on its own.
