Blog Conference

Today, I’m attending my first blog conference.  Show Me The Blog is going down right here in St. Louis at the Lumiere Place Hotel & Casino.  The two-day conference will focus on social media topics today and blog topics tomorrow.

I’ve attended many conferences, but they’ve all been academic.  So, for a minute this morning, I had no idea what I would wear to a blog conference.  I had some requirements for an outfit in mind.  I knew I wanted to look professional. Since I’m attending as a fashion blogger, I also wanted to dress a little hipper than I would at an academic conference. I also wanted to be comfortable since it’s an all-day affair.

For the sessions today, here’s what I’ve decided on.  A classic striped buttoned down shirt with a jazzy balloon detail at the bottom is paired with a striking red pencil skirt.  A black belt, patterned tights, and a pair of well-broken-in, black pointed toe flats complete the look.

I’m taking my python print Michael Kors Item tote because I love how the animal print clashes with the stripes.  More importantly, the tote holds all my blog conference needs, including a laptop, smartphone, and camera.
