Pinned by Stella & Dot

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of talking with Kenya Swanson, a Stella & Dot stylist.  We spoke about jewelry no doubt. You see, this is the season of statement jewelry, pieces that could transform an entire look.

Now, I have contact allergies, which prevent me from sporting most fashion jewelry. What can I say? My skin only wants the real stuff (18kt and up).  Ha!  It is just too bad that my budget can’t always accomodate that high caliber taste.

The superb stylist Kenya promised that she could find a solution for me at Stella & Dot.  And, she came through with an option so chic that I don’t understand how I’ve overlooked them for so long—a brooch!

My new Stella & Dot bee brooch:

Packaging

Brooch up close

How I’ve been wearing it:

Brooch used to keep a scarf centered
Brooch worn on a blazer
Up close shot of the brooch on a blazer
Brooch on a fedora hat

This bee brooch set in gold with glass beads and a standout turquoise bead at the center is so gorgeous I want to pin it everywhere.

If you’ve wanted to try Stella & Dot, see what magic Kenya can work for you by checking out her stylist page:  Kenya Swanson at Stella & Dot.

Thanks Kenya for a fantastic selection that has broadened my jewelry-wearing possibilities!

I've always overlooked brooches, but they seem to be so versatile, and yours just adds the right amount of sparkle.

    Cute!

I too have contact dermatitis – but I can't give up my baubles! I wear it until that telltale itch starts then I pull it off – sometimes I make it through a whole day, sometimes 15 minutes is my max. Pitiful, I know 🙂

@B.Inspired: I will definitely be entering that giveaway!

@Lori: Cool accent on the hat, right!

@Jane: Me too. I am so excited about exploring brooches further now. There is another one in the new fall collection a Stella & Dot that I am seriously looking at already.

@Nerd Girl: Oh no…contact dermatitis sucks. For many years, I did the same thing. I absolutely love things with brass hardware and wore them! But, last year I became so frustrated by skin irritation that I took extreme steps to prevent reactions. I got rid of products with fragrances, bags with brass hardware, fashion jewelry that caused problems, makeup that was potentially irritating. Those steps worked. It has been interesting to watch how these changes have altered my style a bit.

Beautiful! I'm a bee fan (my blog is called One Busy Bee) and I'm actually wearing another Stella & Dot bee item today. I am also a Stylist in the San Francisco Bay Area and I love the company. We're even expanding to the UK. How exciting!

If there is anyone looking to book a trunk show in Northern California, let me know! I'd love to help out! http://www.stelladot.com/Bernadette

PS – The Fall line is out and it's amazing!
