Dressing from the Shoes Up

I had so much difficulty getting dressed today.  I was running behind schedule when I started getting ready.  And, I think I tried on roughly four outfits before committing to one.  Do you ever have a similar experience?

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have a long trek from my office to my classroom, so the only thing about my outfit that was certain were my new Michael Kors Fulton flats.  They are the perfect walking shoe for me.

The fulton flat is like a cross between a ballet flat and a loafer.  It is a casual-looking shoe.  I, however, avoid dressing too casually when teaching my undergraduate students on those days.

Check out the look I decided on.

A brown and white, sleeveless dress with a chic graphic print is worn with a tan belt and yellow cardigan. The fulton flats complete the work look.

I really wish I could raid your closet. You're making me so eager to pull out all my dresses from storage!

I love this look! I have been weary of pairing a cardigan with a dress, because some of the combinations that I've tried looked a little too little-girly for me. The whole outfit-from the cardigan and dress to the belt, make this appropriate for a professional woman-so chic, and also a great way to show how black can work for Spring!!

    Oh I LOVE this outfit!

BTW went to Marshalls and saw your Max Studio striped maxi dress. Unfortunately they only had an XS and a M, but I have to admit I did try to squeeze myself in the Medium! 🙂

Thanks @Someone, @Sing, and @Sarah. The dress was a very chic and cheap ($24.99) find.

Come on through @Taylor 🙂 My dresses never see storage. They are just so much easier to fit than pants.

Really @Life as Leah? That combination is one of my staple looks.

Thanks @Cole. I will check it out.

Aww man @Allie. That's too bad! I have been seeing so many of the dresses popping up my Marshalls stores.
