Zumba! I used to dread working out and my workout wear reflected those feelings as it was quite dreadful—old tees and sweat pants. I discovered Zumba last spring, though, and have been hooked ever since. Now, I find myself trying to establish a workout style that is as chic as I am passionate about Zumba. Of course, there is official zumba gear, but until I decide to splurge on that stuff, I have found a few low-cost favorites.
My favorite workout top is the C9 by Champion racer tank top. It gives me all the support I need and the ruching design on the back is quite chic. My current favorite workout pants is the Old Navy yoga stretch pants. These pants are comfy and move when you move. They Ryka Studio D sneaker has become my favorite pair of dance fitness shoes because it is stylish and gives multi-directional support.
In today’s post, I am wearing a racerback tank with leggings and my zumba/belly dancing hip scarf. My Ryka sneakers complete this workout look.

**Update**5-14-2011**: Visit Getting Fit Fabulously for my current favorite workout wear. The Ryka Studio D is still my favorite shoe for zumba. I am even exploring getting a second pair.
Well this is just great to read!!! I want to work out but I want to look cute too!! Maybe a new outfit would give me inspiration.
Does the top give good chest support?
And do the leggings give you good support with bottom control?
I find that I have to wear too pair of tights in order to keep confusion down in the back!
A.I.: The cute outfit just might be inspiration indeed. I found myself shaking things a little more when I wore the outfit in this post. Ha!
Now, the tank has one of those built-in shelf bras, which can be tricky. I have a small chest and can usually wear them. The top has a nice snug fit (I actually sized up for the best fit), which helps lock things in. The ruching also camouflages any bulges and the racerback cut is sexier than my others.
I feel you on the leggings. These leggings are probably typical. I particularly like them because of the wide waist band, which does not create any bulges. Have you tried Zumba? The more "confusion" you are working with, the better the moves look!
THX for mentioning the Ryka shoes…I have a pair of Ryka that I use for power walking outside…They are the ugliest shoes ever…However, let me tell you, these are one comfortable pair of shoes…A woman's company designing shoes for women…I have grown to love these ugly duckling shoes..ha…
Annie: So your ugly ducklings have swan-like capabilities huh? That's been my experience too! I only recently discovered Ryka, but they are the most comfortable fitness shoes I have ever worn and worked out in.
I was especially pleased to acquire my pair, the Dance Studio D style, that I use for Zumba for a total price of $36.30 on shoebuy.com!!!!!
I have a band as well, but mine is purple. We have a lot in common, I will be following!
@Stephanie: That's cool! You know, I am a huge fan and longtime follower of you on YouTube! Glad we can link up in the blogosphere.
