Haiti Fashion, Carnival 2009
Peace y’all. By now, you would have heard about the devastating 7.0-magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti on Tuesday. According to CNN reports, Haitian officials fear that more than 100,000 people may have died as a result of the impact. We continue to get troubling reports of dwindling fresh water and food supplies, overcrowded hospitals, and a rising death toll.
As a citizen of this world, I am compelled to assist. I am imposing an emergency 3-month shopping moratorium and donating my shopping budget for that period to Haiti Children, a non-profit organization that gives 100% of donations to Haitian programs. This organization is currently mobilizing all its efforts towards earthquake relief.
So, fellow fashionistas, if you are moved to assist as well, check out MSNBC’s Haiti Earthquake: How to Help, a list of charitable organizations active in Haiti.
**Update: I also decided to donate to Partner’s in Health. Check out the link for more information about the organization’s mission and its Stand With Haiti Campaign.
I will not concur on it. I regard as precise post. Specially the designation attracted me to study the unscathed story.
This is very honorable of you!Thank you for the suggestion.

I just imposed a shopping ban on myself yesterday, too! Mine is only for a month, though. Good luck with yours!
