Looking Back, Looking Forward

New twist. In addition to featuring vintage and modern classic pieces on Wednesdays, the middle of the week will also be dedicated to featuring remixes of some older outfits from the Economy of Style archive.

To kick things off, remember my Pulled-together Professional look from last fall? It featured a grey wool pencil skirt paired with a light yellow, crisp button-down shirt.

For a fall 2008 update, the same skirt is paired with a standout purple top with subtle puff sleeves and shirring at the neckline. The updated look is completed by grey suede pumps and a silky leopard scarf.

adore the berry color. it’s very savvy to use what a gal has in her closet already and update with a piece of the season’s new color.

Both looks are very flattering, and you get double the mileage out of the skirt. Very clever!

the purple looks great with the gray, and the scarf’s a nice touch. what a contrast from the other look. (but of course you look so well put together in both)
