It’s been so cold in the Lou this week that I’ve been reaching for my warmest clothing—chunky sweaters, tall boots, and heavy coats.

I found today’s featured sweater for just $19.99. It’s available in four colors, but of course, the mustard yellow was my favorite. It’s a rib-knit sweater that’s slightly longer in the back. I’m wearing it in a size medium for an oversized and longer fit.

Saw the cozy chic in bargain buys post? This look is a remix of that one that maintains the combination of colors (mustard and cognac) and leopard print.

Cozy Chic in Bargain Buys

It’s finally starting to feel like winter. Cue the chunky sweaters, heavy coats, and tall boots. I like my winter separates to look and feel luxurious, but that doesn’t mean they have to cost a lot. Here are a few of my latest luxe finds for less.

Come back tomorrow to see how I actually wore a version of this look.

To kick off 2016 in style, I’m featuring one of my favorite local designers, Maryam Garba, the designer behind my beloved “Psyche” dress. Let me tell you, her latest collection is even better than the last. One of my favorite items from the new collection is the versatile Geraldine wrap dress.

I received my wrap dress just in time for my trip to Mexico, so I took it with me. It was the perfect dress for an evening out in Playa del Carmen.

I’m wearing the wrap dress with an H&M straw hat since my hair had been freshly washed after a day at the ocean. I’m also wearing my go-to sandals from last summer, the J.Crew buckled mid-heel sandal.

I added my Kendra Scott “Perla” earrings and a couple rings—the Kendra Scott “Odette” and “Jordan” rings.

Happy New Year!

I wish you the best 2016.

Traveling with Jewelry

I’m out of the country this week with plans to ring in the new year on a beach. I travel light, packing carry-on luggage only. The right jewelry to complement the few looks I pack is important. Packing that jewelry safely, though, is even more important. Here’s my favorite way to travel with jewelry.

Jewelry Organizer

Statement earrings are my go-to accessories when in tropical climates, so I packed a few of my favorites. They fit perfectly in the earring compartment of my organizer, which holds up to 32 pairs of earrings.

The jewelry organizer has a few snap closures. My rings are safely stored on one of them below.  Talking about snap closures, each compartment in this case is removable

Once all my baubles are packed into the jewelry organizer, I simply fold it close and place the case in my luggage.

Bargain Shopping Tip: I found this case for a fraction of the cost in a Nordstrom Rack Store. The cases are on clearance there, making them eligible for the current additional promotional discount of 25% off.

Holiday Travel Essentials

My husband and I are thinking about jetting out to some place much warmer than St. Louis to ring in the new year. So, naturally, I’m already thinking about what I’m going to pack. Clothing and shoes aside, here are some of the essentials that’ll surely be coming with me.

1. A Leather carryall  (I found mine in TJ Maxx years ago)

2. Travel-size bottles filled with must-have toiletries

3. A passport case to keep important travel documents safe

4. Mac travel brush kit

5. An  eye shadow palette

6. A few of my favorite lipsticks

7. My favorite mascara

8. My favorite sunglasses

9. A straw fedora

10. A jewelry travel case for my travel baubles

11. Some headphones to pass any downtime
