Spring styles are arriving at our favorite outlet stores. I received a couple email blasts from factory retailers today, and the featured new arrivals got me excited about spring. Many of the new arrivals are already on sale too.
I’m shopping for a new trench coat this year since I donated a couple of my older styles. I’m leaning towards a soft trench in a neutral hue. Here’s a trench that I’m definitely going to try on.
There are 54 days until spring. I’m counting down. What I’m not doing, though, is waiting until spring to incorporate the season’s vivid colors into my wardrobe. It feels so right to wear cheery colors like mauve and fuchsia on gloomy winter days.

My colorful look is anchored by a 2-in-1 cardigan top that combines a crisp white top with a mauve cardigan. It’s feels as comfortable as pajamas. For size reference, I’m wearing a size small.
To play up the colors in the look, I added a brightly patterned infinity scarf that blends fuchsia and blue and a striking fuchsia beanie.
Basic black leggings tucked into a pair of ankle boots complete the look. The boots are a taller pair of ankle boots from Naturalizer. I was concerned at first that ankle boots with a taller shaft height would shorten my legs, but that hasn’t been the case with this pair. See how they look with tights in Embracing Winter with Color.
My wool coat is the jacket I wear most often during the winters in St. Louis. Since purchasing today’s featured wool coat, a Plenty by Tracy Reese coat that I found in Anthropologie over 3 years ago, my other wool coats rarely get worn.
This coat, anchored in navy blue, has bold blocks of color that take the coat from basic to fabulous. It has an overall standout design.
