The Best Airport Outfit For Spring Travel

My airport style has gone through several phases over the years. I’ve done the fussy-fancy looks that were uncomfortable. I’ve done the super comfortable but not so chic looks. My airport outfit now? It’s just right. Equal parts comfortable and stylish. In today’s post, I’m sharing the spring version of that look.

What I’m wearing:

Jacket (under $35) | Jogger set: Zara top (new version) | Zara bottom (new version)

Scarf (option) | Sneakers | Luggage (similar)

Sharp joggers as a base

I’m a huge fan of the loungewear trend because it has prompted the market to reimagine the options. The result? Super chic pieces that are also comfortable. The base of my best airport outfits is alway a jogger set. The one I’m wearing is an old style from Zara. The top is an oversized v-neck shirt, and the drawstring pants have a tapered ankle. Worn together, they look like a comfy-chic jumpsuit. I own it in 2 colors–black and white.

Toppers for function and style

Airport temperature is always out of our control. It’s almost always freezing too. So, layering is a must. For spring travel, I’m choosing lightweight jackets, like this light blue jacket. And, get this? This blazer feels so luxurious, it has a right-on-trend silhouette, but it’s under $35! When it’s the colder season, I take my overcoat (seen before here) in lieu of a light jacket for added warmth.

Scarves can be signature and multi-purpose

We already agree that unpredictable temperature calls for layering. Scarves are also must then. They add signature touches to your overall look, and they can double as important covers. I added a silky scarf to my spring airport outfit. When it’s colder, I take something closer to a blanket scarf that can literally double as a blanket in transit.

Smart shoes

Sneakers have become my go-to smart shoe choice for travel. In this look, I’m wearing my old favorite jute sneakers from Superga. Mine were from Soft Surroundings, but Express is carrying the exact same style this year. I often reach for my Nike trainers when I expect to do a lot of walking while in transit.

3 Easy Ways To Wear A Slip Dress

This post is sponsored by Kindred, a collective boutique in West County Center.

My favorite collective boutique in St. Louis got a wardrobe staple I’ve been wanting for a while–the slip dress! Slip dresses have been having an extended moment. No surprise, though. They go with everything and bring some serious style versatility to your closet. So, when I saw this modern red style in Kindred, I had to have it. Today, I’m sharing 3 easy ways I’ve been wearing my dress.

How to wear a slip dress

What I’m wearing:

Slip Dress via Kindred | White t-shirt | Denim jacket (similar, similar)

Superga jute sneakers c/o | Straw hat

How to wear a slip dress

1. Pile on the layers

Layering with a slip dress is a perfect way to make it ready for all kinds of weather situations. I’m wearing a short-sleeve white tee under my dress. When it’s colder, I could easily wear a long-sleeve tee instead.

2. Tie your jacket around your waist

Tis the season to let the shoulders out. But, you might regret that when you step inside a freezing, air-conditioned space. Tying a jacket around the waist is both stylish and functional because you’d have a layer to toss on when cold.

3. Drape your jacket

The drape needs no further explanation. Draping a jacket makes every outfit infinitely cooler.

To add more summer flavor to the slip dress, I’ve been wearing my straw fedora and jute sneakers.

If you’re shopping for your perfect slip dress, swing by the Kindred store in West County Center. I was thrilled to find this bright number for only $38 there. See more of my favorite Kindred finds here.

Have an amazing and stylish weekend!

Because Leggings Go with Everything and Everywhere

If you’re like me, you’ve been closely watching all the Fall 2018 styles coming down the major runways this runway season. I’ve been paying special attention to the trends I hope stick around. After seeing collections by Tom Ford, Alexander Wang, and Victoria Beckham prominently feature leggings, I was thrilled. Why? I love leggings, and I don’t plan to let them go anytime soon. A leggings trend makes it super easy to do that.

Leggings go with everything. You can lounge in ’em. You can layer ’em. And, you can even dress ’em up. You’re also going to want to do all of the above because they’re so comfortable.

What I’m Wearing:

Sweater (TJ Maxx) | Leggings (similar) | Kate Spade Scarf (old)

I just returned from NYC. The weather was cold and dreary. So I wore leggings and boots just about every day there. One time, leggings anchored a dress. In today’s featured look, leggings were the perfect finishing piece for a mixed print combination of a sweater and scarf.

Amazing Airport Style That’s Surprisingly Affordable

I’m taking a last-minute trip back home today. So, I decided to check in with my travel day look. It’s comfortable, chic, and built around a few bargain buys. Here’s my take on amazing airport style.

Shirtdress | Loafers (option, option) | Backpack | Sunglasses

24″ Suitcase | 18″ Carryon

Hopefully, you caught this previous post spreading the good news about the generous 80% off deal on the Diane Von Furstenberg Saluti luggage. I believe only a limited number of pieces remain. I took advantage of the offer and purchased today’s featured set (which retails for just under $1000) for under $115!

The DVF Saluti luggage is a favorite among fashionistas because of its elegant vintage design. I’m also a huge fan of the pieces because they’re lightweight and durable. Furthermore, after my last trip home, I especially appreciated the protective capabilities of a hardside case. I never had to worry about the fragile contents of my luggage.

Amazing airport style

I had mostly avoided hardside cases because they offer very little wiggle room since they don’t expand. Traveling with the 24″ and 18″ cases, however, provides sufficient space for my trips home.

I’m taking the Madewell Transport Rucksack as my personal item. This backpack is the perfect size for holding my Macbook and photography equipment. I snagged it during a recent storewide sale. Shopbop currently has it on sale here though.

I’m wearing a shirtdress that I’ve been eying in J.Crew for a couple summers. I’m glad I waited, though, because the style is now at J.Crew Factory. It’s even on sale there right now for under $30! For reference, I’m wearing a size small.

So, there you go. Amazing airport style for the low low.
