Cut It Out: The Coolest 2020 Swim Trend

One-piece swimsuits have come to prove that they can be just as sexy and more interesting that bikinis this year. Enter, the cut-out swimsuit! Since it’s never too early to get ready for swim season, I’m checking in with several affordable options in the coolest swim trend of 2020. Psst…my suit is from Target. I kid you not.

What I’m wearing:

Earrings | Anklet | Lip: Mac “Ruby Woo”

It’s totally still winter in St. Louis, but I’m working with the St. Louis Boat & Sportshow this weekend. I had a ton of fun of exploring the largest yacht at the convention. Of course, I had to style the moment.

Dale Kelley Hat

My black one-piece is $39.99 at Target. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I was immediately drawn to this beauty because of its striking silhouette with front and back cutouts. It also offers a great deal of coverage for a swimsuit with so many openings. The bottom is high-waisted, and the leg cut can be adjusted to your personal taste.

My cover-up is actually a robe by Kate Design St. Kitts. I’ve always found it too adorable to just wear at home. And, my magnificent hat (did you peep the details on the top?) is by Dale Kelley of Dale Original Art & Style in St. Kitts.

Et voila! I had the perfect yacht day style.

These Round Towels are Guaranteed to be Your Coolest Beach Accessory

Come round! Want to stand it out in style at the beach? Choose a round towel. Circle towels are trumping over the classic rectangular profile because they’re super stylish and stand out. But, there’s more. Round towels offer a sizable surface, more so than classic ones, which make them ideal for sharing with friends. Because of the overall cool look, round towels are also multipurpose. You can take it to your next outdoor concert or picnic in the park. I wanted a new one for my trip home and quickly discovered that circle towels are not made equally. These styles, though, have been Economy of Style approved.

Hanging on to the Last Bikini Moments of the Summer

I’ve been partnering with Venus for about a year to showcase some of my favorite affordable finds from the retailer. Some of my finds became instant wardrobe staples like my black skinny pants because I wear them all the time (seen here, here, and here). Other pieces became go-tos for special occasions like my LBD (seen here). All of my beach-y styles, though, became must-pack items for my island getaways. Since Venus does swimwear and beachwear so well, I turned to them when searching for the first bikini I’d wear in over 15 years. Consequently, that bikini, a sunny yellow number, was perfect for creating enjoyable bikini moments.

While my home country St. Kitts is my most beloved island, St. Lucia is one of my favorites. So, my husband and I jetted out to the island for a last vacay of the summer. We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian, a dreamy spot for couples because every corner of the place is serene and no kids are allowed. Stay tuned for details on our stay later this week.

What is it about the Caribbean Sea? After a morning dip in the ocean, I always feel inspired to unleash my inner Usain Bolt. Ha. Seriously, though, as a child, no week ever started for me without a beach visit. Sundays at the beach were ritual.
