6 Pretty And Practical Ways To Wear A Twilly Scarf

Scarves are indispensable accessories. During the winter, they protect our necks with style and comfort. When it gets warmer, the right scarf can function as a throw or a swim cover. One of my favorites, especially this time of year, is a twilly scarf. The long and narrow silk scarf is the ultimate fashion accessory because it’s so versatile. You can rock it as a bracelet, headband, belt, and bag adornment. In today’s post, I’m sharing 6 stylish ways you can wear one just around your neck.

In the video below, I’m styling one Dior twilly 6 different ways. Like something in the video? I’ve linked the details of each look below as well.

What I’m wearing with my twilly scarf:

1: One shoulder top (option) | White shorts (similar) | Dior twilly (option for less)

2: Striped shirt dress |

3: Yellow shorts suit (new colors–Blazer | Shorts) | Tube top

4: Blue blazer | Tube top  | Navy Bermuda shorts

5: Black crop tee (similar) | Ruffle mini skirt

2 Ways To Wear Your Joggers At Home

Wellness check! My friends, I hope that you are safe and finding a new normal in this time filled with uncertainty and fear. I thought I’d check in, like I always do, with ways I’m using style to navigate tough realities. So, today, I’m sharing my at-home style.

I’ve been working from home for a long time. In the last year, I’ve been intentionally honing an at-home look that resonated with my overall style. The answer has been chic joggers and jogger sets. They’re comfortable while sitting at a desk (or taking a couch break), yet chic enough to wear to run an errand outside. Jogger sets can be so versatile too. You’ve already seen today’s featured set because it’s also one of my favorite travel looks (seen styled for travel here). In today’s post, I’m sharing how I mix up that jogger set for 2 occasions–working solo and Zoom meetings (gosh I’m so over Zoom).

2 Ways To Wear Your Joggers At Home

This first look features one of my favorite jogger sets from Zara. I love this set so much that I own it in 2 colors. The v-neck, cap sleeve top and drawstring, tapered pants create a simple yet sophisticated look. When I shop for joggers I look for little details that distinguish them from basic joggers. My set from H&M, for example, has a cropped, puff sleeve top that makes it ‘fashion.’

One of the things I love about a jogger set is that it’s versatile. You can wear the entire set. You can rock the separates. You can dress up the pieces. These days, you can find me in Zoom meetings. All the time. Zoom meetings. To dress up my joggers, I simply throw on a blazer or a jacket. Most of my meetings are style related, so I have a little fashion fun with my blazer looks. One of the biggest spring trends this year is the bralette-blazer combination. So I’m playing with that trend below. Doesn’t the change in tops make my drawstring pants look dressier?

How To Wear The Vest Trend

2020 runways gave a special nod to 70s trends. One of those was undoubtedly the vest. The vest trend was spotted center stage in many shows, from Saint Laurent to Gucci to Louis Vuitton. What was clear from each presentation is that 2020 vest dressing can be more chic and hip than you imagine. I’m quite fond of the style for creating cool alternatives to traditional suiting. That’s what I’m doing in today’s post.

I saw this Theory vest in a TJ Maxx Runway store about a month ago. When the already reduced price was reduced further, I snatched it up. I envisioned wearing it in shorts suits (see shorts suit style inspiration here and here). I hoped that it would pair well with my black DIY Bermuda shorts, and it did. For a classic yet right-on-trend combination, I also added a striped tee. Et voila!

A vest like this would also look fabulous over a mini shirt dress (like this one). I also plan to wear mine with short shorts, joggers, and wide leg pants. I’m excited about all the styling possibilities actually. You too, right?

Cut It Out: The Coolest 2020 Swim Trend

One-piece swimsuits have come to prove that they can be just as sexy and more interesting that bikinis this year. Enter, the cut-out swimsuit! Since it’s never too early to get ready for swim season, I’m checking in with several affordable options in the coolest swim trend of 2020. Psst…my suit is from Target. I kid you not.

What I’m wearing:

Cut-out swimsuit | Kate Design cover-up | Dale Kelley hat | Sunglasses

Earrings | Anklet | Lip: Mac “Ruby Woo”

It’s totally still winter in St. Louis, but I’m working with the St. Louis Boat & Sportshow this weekend. I had a ton of fun of exploring the largest yacht at the convention. Of course, I had to style the moment.

Dale Kelley Hat

My black one-piece is $39.99 at Target. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I was immediately drawn to this beauty because of its striking silhouette with front and back cutouts. It also offers a great deal of coverage for a swimsuit with so many openings. The bottom is high-waisted, and the leg cut can be adjusted to your personal taste.

My cover-up is actually a robe by Kate Design St. Kitts. I’ve always found it too adorable to just wear at home. And, my magnificent hat (did you peep the details on the top?) is by Dale Kelley of Dale Original Art & Style in St. Kitts.

Casual Friday In A Blazer And Bermudas

Happy Friday! One of my favorite ways to wear Bermudas is with an oversized blazer. The resulting combination is equal parts polished and laid-back, making it perfect for casual Friday.

What I’m wearing:

Southwell blazer c/o Renee’s Touch | Tube top (option) | Bermudas (DIY’d this pair)

Mules (similar) | Lip: Pat McGrath | Watch (similar)

My blazer is the Southwell blazer from Renee’s Touch in a size small. I’ve styled and shared it before here. It’s a fresh twist on a classic striped blazer because of its gorgeous Juliette sleeves. Statement sleeves are having a major moment this year. They make everything look so much cooler.

I’m wearing the blazer with some Bermuda shorts that I made by simply cutting off these J.Crew Factory jeans. I went this route because I wanted Bermudas with this exact length and a frayed hem. Since I had an extra pair of jeans I didn’t mind experimenting with…snip snip. I’m beyond happy with the outcome. Thank goodness. Lol.
