Grey and Navy: Take 2

If you’ve seen my Grey and Navy post, then you already know that that color combination is a favorite of mine. Today’s post brings the colors together again. This time, a lightweight grey sweater tops a pair of navy shorts. The look is completed by grey suede booties and pops of color from jewelry in my latest Rocksbox. By the way, if you haven’t tried the Rocksbox jewelry subscription service yet, test it for one month FREE (get a special code here).

The Future’s So Bright…

Celine. YSL. Gucci. SmartBuyGlasses, an online retailer of designer eyewear, carries over 180 brands of designer frames and sunglasses at affordable prices. Since sunglasses are style staples for me this time of year, I welcomed the offer to style a pair from the company and share my experience with you.

Deciding on a pair of sunglasses took longer than the shades took to get to me. There are so many options and a virtual try-on feature that I had too much fun playing with. I eventually placed an order and within 2 days my Michael Kors Leah sunglasses in dark havana shipped. Even though my sunglasses shipped from Hong Kong, I received them the following day via DHL. Talk about fast shipping! By the way, shipping is always free at SmartBuyGlasses. My sunglasses arrived securely packaged in their designer case with branded lens cloth and a complimentary lens cleaning kit.

Today’s featured look, an all navy ensemble, is completed by my Michael Kors Leah sunglasses. The huge, vintage-inspired frames with dark tortoise details add a luxe finishing touch.

Road Trip Style

Earlier this week, I hit the open road in search of a little R&R. Since I knew I would be cooped up in a car for several hours, I wore my comfiest garbs for the trip. A jersey knit tee in a fresh print is paired with white bermuda shorts for a casual chic travel ensemble. A straw fedora keeps my twists covered in style. The most comfortable shoes ever, the Sanuk “Toe the Line” sidewalk surfers, add a fresh ikat print to the mix. My Terrida Tangaroa travel duffel, my greatest TJ Maxx find of all time (dig into the EOS archives for the story on this duffel), is the perfect holdall for the short trip.

Summer Favorites: Florals, Purple, & Vintage

Something floral. Something purple. Something old. Today’s look, an outfit I wore to brunch yesterday, features a few of my favorite things, all bargain finds this summer. The bold graphic floral blouse and the pleated shorts are sale-on-sale purchases from J.Crew. The necklace is a special find from CS Gems, a St. Louis-area jewelry retailer committed to making vintage pieces modern again. CS Gems sells repurposed vintage and vintage-inspired jewelry via etsy at CSVintageGems. The company also hosts monthly flash sales on Facebook.

Styling My 4th of July J.Crew Bargain Buys

Fourth of July weekend was a whirlwind for me. I actually ended up working for a great portion of it. I’m a a new part-time buyer for a small international boutique that brings the brands we know and love to women in a country where these brands aren’t easily accessible. While out shopping all the amazing deals the weekend had to offer, I grabbed a couple items for myself too. J.Crew stores had a serious sale, offering an additional 50% off markdowns. When you can get luxe-looking $75 shorts for $10, you grab a pair.

Here’s how I plan to wear my bargain buys from J.Crew:

J.Crew silk tee, $34 (orig. $118)

J.Crew shorts, $10.62 (orig. $75)

J.Crew necklace

Joe’s Jeans pumps

The sale is still on! Be sure to shop the physical store for the best deals. If items are unavailable in-store, an associate can order online at the store price with free shipping.
