A Fabulous Fall Inspired Color Palette

Since we’ve been talking a lot about color this week, I thought I’d bring out an old favorite dress in a fabulous fall color (see it styled differently here). Rust, burnt orange, henna (like this dress) are popular autumnal hues. These colors pair well with hues in the same family too. So, today, I’m combining them for a fall inspired color block.

What I’m wearing:

My dress is the Santiago dress from Soft Surroundings. There are only a couple sizes left. For reference, I’m wearing the dress in a size XS. I was drawn to the dress because of its color, but I also love the boatneck detail, which offers some versatility in styling (see how it drapes off the shoulder here).

To stay in the color family but mix things up a bit, I added my new faux leather jacket (see it styled differently here and here) from Gordmans. Together, they create fall inspired color magic.

Add the tan shoes? And, the color combination goes to a new level of chic.

The additional details are staples I wear with everything. My structural earrings (shop a similar style here) in 14K gold add just the right amount of sparkle. My red lip by Pat McGrath pops with the autumnal hues. And, my Fendi bag is a beautiful complement to the vibe of this look.

Cozy Up In Bright Colors This Cold Season

It’s easy to embrace neutrals when the temperature drops. I’ve been reaching for a lot of black, beige, and brown lately. This fall, though, I’ll also be reaching for bold, bright, cheerful colors. Fall brights are going to be a thing. Remember my sweater jacket in Burnished Rust (see it styled for work)? It works well as a pop of color in an outfit and a block of color in a bright ensemble too.

What I’m wearing:

Bag (option, option, option) | Earrings (similar) | Necklace (similar, similar) | Anklet c/o

To go all out, I paired my orange sweater jacket with bright pink pants (see the pants holding down a suit here). This color combo has been quite popular in fall runway collections, so I thought it’d be fun to recreate using items in my own wardrobe.

By the way, the sweater jacket is 50% off right now! It has an oversized fit, so I sized down to an XS. It also comes in 4 colors.

To jazz up these fall brights even more, I dusted off my old Kate Spade brushstroke clutch. And, for shoes? I kept those neutral with my tan mules. These mules go with everything (see them in a plaid ensemble here).

How To Style Fall’s Favorite Faux Leather Jacket

This post is sponsored by Specialty Retailers, INC.

As we inch closer to fall, I’ve been assessing my wardrobe needs for the season. A faux leather jacket has topped my list of needs. I’ve been contemplating getting one for a few years because it’s like a cool-girl essential. Besides, I adore the moto jacket style and nothing beats that look in leather. While I was in Tennessee recently for a Gordmans grand opening (learn more here), I shopped for one. I’m thrilled to report that the options were plentiful, fabulous, and affordable. Today, I’m sharing the gem I found.

Gordmans Finds:

Faux leather jacket ($39.99) | Striped sweater ($16.99) | Pants ($8.99)

Blanket scarf ($9.99) | Block heel mules ($25.99)

I shopped my entire outfit at the newly opened Gordmans in Dyersburg, Tennessee. The look started with the luxe-looking, faux leather jacket. The zippers. The silhouette. The color. The length. Every detail on this jacket looks so expensive, but it’s only $39.99 in Gordmans.

Given the rich brown hue of the jacket, I decided to pull together pieces in that color family. And, oh my…I found the coolest things. My striped sweater blocked the best fall colors together.

The ankle length, chocolate pants strike the perfect balance between polished and comfortable.

My supersized blanket scarf is going to be my best companion when the temps start dropping. Its color/print combination, though, made it the ideal complement to my striped sweater. The combo is a fun mixed print.

The blocked heel mules are a such a cool find for fall. The almond toe shape makes this pair special. And, in taupe, these mules are so wearable.

I always find the best deals in Gordmans. See another recent find here. Then, go find your nearest store (locate your store here).

The Versatile Boot Dominating 2019 Trends

There are a few cool boot trends hitting the scene this fall. Square toe boots. White boots. But, nothing beats a classic bootie in taupe when it comes to styling versatility. In today’s post, I’m styling one of my favorite pairs of taupe booties. Trust me, you’ll be seeing them all fall because they go with everything.

What I’m wearing:

Cropped sweater | Vintage straight jeans | Booties c/o

Fendi Sunnies (shop Fendi on sale here) |  Fendi Baguette (also here) | Lip: Pat McGrath

My booties are from Rockport. Since getting a pair last year (see those here), I’ve become a fan of Rockport because of its comfort technology that provides cushioning, flexibility, and shock absorption. Overall, the boots just feel stable and supportive. I was thrilled, then, to see the taupe options this fall because they’re just what my wardrobe needs.

Taupe booties are super versatile. Today, I’m wearing a casual outfit–white cropped top and denim. The taupe ankle boots add a certain sophisticated vibe to the entire look. Right? The styling possibilities are truly endless though. I can’t wait to finish my brighter fall looks with these taupe booties.

Shopping for a taupe bootie? I’ve rounded up a few options at every price point at the end of this post.

Just Add A Belt To Elevate The Look

I have a few reliable styling tricks I can reach for when I need to step it up a bit. One of those is simply adding a belt to a look. I was wearing a white shorts suit during the day last week, and I needed to transition the look for a celebratory event at night. I threw on my Gucci web belt, and the rest is history.

What I’m wearing:

Blazer (similar) | Tank | Shorts (similar) | Gucci belt | Sandals (similar, option)

It’s no secret. This Gucci belt is one of my favorites. You’ve seen it transform outfits here, here, and here. One of my favorite ways to wear it is over a blazer (kinda like this). This time around, though, I belted my shorts for a different styling option. The result was the same–it made the outfit better.

To complete the look, I added some red sandals with round wooden heels. Aren’t you just loving the sculptural heels trend? My pair is from Zara (sorry, they sold out quickly during the summer sale). They remind of a few styles I’d been eying from Cult Gaia (see those sandals here).
