Join Me at the Ultimate Girl’s Day Out!

This post is sponsored Christopher & Banks.

I’m so excited to be joining Christopher & Banks at the St. Louis Working Women’s Survival Show at the St. Charles Convention Center on Saturday, February 25th. This year’s expo is special because the event is celebrating its 30th anniversary. I’ll be at the Christopher & Banks booths (booths 223 and 224) from 5:00-7:00 PM, and I’ll be presenting on the best of spring style at 5:30 PM. Come hang out!

Christopher & Banks items (c/o): Button-up shirt | Colored denim | Stripe scarf

Earrings | Sandals (old, new option) | Mac “Carmine Rouge” lipstick

To give you a sneak peek of what you can expect on Saturday, I’m rocking a few of my favorite pieces from Christopher & Banks’ spring collection. Bright colors. Fabulous prints. Classic silhouettes. This collection is packed with items we’d love and enjoy wearing all spring and summer long.

Christopher & Banks Spring Collection

Hands down, the signature slimming colored denim ankle pants are my favorite style from the Christopher & Banks spring collection. I saw them and immediately started picturing all the fun ways I will be rocking them this spring. I’m wearing them in Thulian Coral, but you must see all the other pretty colors available. And, as always, Christopher & Banks styles are available for every body, coming in sizes 4P to 32W.

You know your girl loves to mix prints. So, at the expo, I’m going to be demonstrating some of my favorite print mixing tricks using essential shirts from the Christopher & Banks spring collection. I’m wearing a solid white essential shirt today. The shirts also come in a few right-on-trend gingham prints that I can’t wait to mix and match.

See you Saturday?

A Day in the Central West End + Win a Gift Basket ($500 Value)

Last Sunday, I experienced life in the Central West End (CWE) the best way possible―through the eyes of the experienced team at 4101 Laclede. The CWE is a bustling St. Louis neighborhood. It’s so happening right now that it was named a top 10 great neighborhood in America by the American Planning Association. Why? Because this neighborhood has everything from sidewalk cafes to historic streetscapes to quaint boutiques. In addition, the CWE will soon be able to brag about its modern luxury residences on Laclede.

4101 Laclede will break ground in December. Developers project completion in about a year after that. And, let me tell you, I want to put my house on the market and move in. The 54 residences at the development will offer modern living at its best. You name it, 4101 Laclede has included it in its thoughtful designs. Gourmet kitchens. Walk-in closets. USB charging outlets. Soaring 10-foot ceilings. And, the best part? The location. The CWE is literally at the doorstep of 4101 Laclede.

Central West End Living

Retreat Gastropub, for example, our first stop on the tour that Sunday, is across the street from 4101 Laclede. Imagine rolling out of bed and stepping into one of the best brunch spots in St. Louis. That’s the life!

Since it was a tad chilly on the day of the tour, we navigated the streets of the Central West End in golf carts. And, I had so much fun. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have caught a few of my hilarious Instagram Stories that day.

Our next stop was the World Chess Hall of Fame, an institution unique to St. Louis that celebrates and educates about the game of chess.

Our visit to the World Chess Hall of Fame coincided with the Designing Chessmen exhibit. This exhibit is open through March 12, 2017, and it’s a must-see. When you visit, be sure to stop by this wine glass chess set. How cool is that?

Kit and Ace, a clothing and accessories line best known for its comfy, machine-washable cashmere pieces, was the next stop. We sipped on mimosas, played video games, and of course, explored the styles.

I picked up this cozy tee in one of my favorite colors of the season. Stay tuned to see how I wear it.

I was really excited about our next stop, Centro, your one stop for high-design furniture, accessories, and lighting. I had gotten glimpses of the store before, so I knew I would be inspired in the space. The pieces and displays are breathtaking.

Back on the grounds of 4101 Laclede. What better way to end an exciting tour than on the grounds of the future luxury condominiums at 4101 Laclede?

How to Make a St. Louis Staycation the Best Ever

When my homegirl Danyelle of The Cubicle Chick told me that she was rounding up the #STLChicks for a St. Louis staycation at Marriott St. Louis Grand, I got on board immediately. Danyelle hosts the best events. They’re fun, educational, and they connect you with the right people at the right time. It was actually her blog conference 5 years ago, my first blog conference, that pushed me to approach blogging seriously.

So, I packed up my favorite weekender bag, tossed on a comfy outfit, and headed downtown last weekend. I knew the trip would be a great opportunity for connecting with fellow influencers. And, I knew we would have a blast the entire time. What I didn’t anticipate was feeling completely transported in my own city, in a hotel so near to my house. But, I did. Today, I’m reflecting on the crucial things that made this St. Louis staycation such an enjoyable trip.

1. Choose a hotel that suits your style. Aesthetics matter to me. And, the Marriott St. Louis Grand is a fashionable gal’s haven. First, it’s housed in a beautiful historic building with an exterior that’s pleasing to the eye and also perfect for outfit photos. Second, the hotel’s redesigned interior is modern and minimalist and swanky, all at the same time.

2. Choose a location that excites you. St. Louis city is a defining touchstone in every image I share on this blog. What can I say? I’m a city gal. And, the Marriot St. Louis Grand is nestled in the heart of downtown St Louis. I simply stepped outside into the following dreamy cityscape.

And, here’s the view from my room on the 18th floor:

3. Choose a hotel that has all the amenities to satisfy the needs of your trip. This recent getaway was a girl’s trip organized around a special networking event for influencers hosted by Danyelle. That event, which drew about 20 local bloggers, took place in one of the Marriott St. Louis Grand’s private dining rooms. We had bites. We had drinks. We had all the elements necessary for a good time. The following morning, the #STLChicks ended our trip with a special breakfast.

4. Choose fellow travelers who inspire you. On this trip, I had the absolute pleasure of spending the weekend with fellow digital-savvy influencers. We talked about goals. We shared knowledge. We encouraged each other. We made magic together.

When Fashion, Technology, and Social Justice Convene

This post is in partnership with Verizon.

Earlier this week, I attended #MotoZFashionNight hosted by Verizon at Laurie Solet boutique. It was a special event because it brought women together to celebrate fashion, technology, and social justice. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Verizon HopeLine program has been committed to domestic violence prevention since 2001. So, Verizon got us all together to talk about HopeLine and the technology that makes it all happen.

laurie-solet-boutique-st-louis-c

Laurie Solet boutique was the perfect setting for #MotoZFashionNight. We enjoyed light bites, wine, and of course, a little shopping. I’ll be sharing a couple of my finds from the boutique in upcoming posts.

motozfashionnight-at-laurie-solet-domestic-violence-awareness-month-4c

While there, we explored the new Moto Z Droid and its cool accessories. The Moto Z is currently the thinnest premium smartphone, and it’s available exclusively to Verizon. This little device is quite powerful and becomes even more so with the addition of accessories called Mods. The phone is a smartypants, too, and connects to Mods without bluetooth. The speaker Mod (barely larger than the phone) especially impressed me by providing music for the entire party. And, it was booming, y’all!

Verizon HopeLine

The Moto Z is also available through the HopeLine Program. One of the major efforts of the Verizon HopeLine program is providing wireless phones and service to victims and survivors of domestic violence. This program is so crucial because these phones serve as lifelines by keeping recipients connected to emergency or support services when needed and also to family and friends.

verizon-purple-product-domestic-violence-awareness-month-c

I’m excited to support Verizon’s work around domestic violence. It’s fairly easy too. I’m rounding up a few of my older phones and accessories to donate. Verizon either refurbishes or recycles the phones to benefit HopeLine. Also, since purple is the color of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I’ll be rocking purple and buying purple. Purchases of purple products at Verizon, like my new mophie power station, benefit Camp Hope America.

It’s Girls Night Out, so there’ll be refreshments and a photo frame for that perfect Instagram image, of course. Guests of the event will also receive 30% off (or 40% off if you bring a friend) new arrivals in the store. In addition, I’ll be in-store to share my favorite styling tips as well as my must-have pieces for fall.

Christopher & Banks

Just so you know, today’s featured look is anchored by a few of those favorite Christopher & Banks fall pieces. I especially love the drapey faux suede vest with its perfect-for-fall neutral hue. For today’s look, I paired it with a couple other essentials for fall—a layering tunic and a pair of slimming ponte leggings. I just love how the silhouettes and the colors complement each other.
