Urban Decay Launches Naked Cherry Collection, And It’s Sweet!

Given it’s popularity over the years, it’s very likely you’ve owned an Urban Decay Naked palette or two at some point. That palette achieved cult-favorite status. I really enjoyed getting creative and mastering my own makeup skills with Urban Decay palettes. So, it was shocking when news broke earlier this fall that the original Naked palette would be discontinued. What the what?

Good news is, though, Urban Decay was working on something new, and it’s good. Really good. Last month, Urban Decay dropped the Naked Cherry Collection, which includes a Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette. Will it be permanent and replace the original Naked palette? That’s left to be seen. What I do know is the collection is bomb. I got my hands on the entire thing, so I’m sharing a quick look and early favorites.

The entire Naked Cherry Collection includes the Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette, Naked Cherry Highlighter & Blush PaletteNaked Cherry 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Black Market)Naked Cherry 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (Love Drug), a cherry-scented All Nighter Setting Spray, and 3 satin finish Vice Lipsticks in Cherry, Juicy, and Devilish.

The 12 shadow palette is fantastic if you love warm berry hues. I do! I’ve already been experimenting with most of the colors. I’ve been enjoying the perfect spread of shimmers and mattes. As with all Urban Decay shadows, I love how easily they apply and wear.

I prefer matte lippies, so these lipsticks really surprised me because I love ’em. I’ve worn Juicy, a shimmering peachy beige, every day since getting it. The deep cherry red is my second favorite. All in all, these lip colors complement the eye looks you’d create with the palette well.

When I first opened the highlighter/blush palette, I knew immediately I’d love the reddish-coral blush and the shimmering highlighter on the left. I was hesitant, though, about that iridescent complexion topper on the right. It’s the kind of color that can easily look ashy on brown skin. It looks fabulous though!

Here’s an easy look I created using the Naked Cherry Collection. My foundation is Fenty Beauty in 390. The lipstick is Juicy. I’m also wearing that iridescent highlighter. Quite nice, right? As always, I set my makeup with the All Nighter Spray. It’s my go-to setting spray. I will be sticking to the original formula, but the cherry-scented one has a soft cherry scent that’s pleasant.

See how well the collection accents fall’s favorite brown hues here.

Disclosure: Urban Decay provided the entire collection.

The Best Beauty and Fashion Collaborations to Know About this Year

Collaborations in fashion and beauty, whether they be luxury brands partnering with department stores or celebrities partnering with mainstream brands, have been quite successful. We’ve seen demand for these collaborations crash websites (a la Target) or so far exceed supply that products sell out within minutes of launch. So, these collaborations are not going anywhere. Listen, the partnerships slated for this year need to be on your radar.

What I love about these partnerships is they offer superb products at price points that are affordable for many. Let’s get into the best beauty and fashion collaborations currently available or launching soon.

At-home Manicure/Pedicure Essentials:

A Super Easy Way to Get a Fresh Hair Color

This shop has been compensated by Schwarzkopf. #FashionColorExpert #sponsored

I recently celebrated one year since chopping all my hair off. Best decision ever! To honor the occasion, I’ve decided to refresh my hair color. It’s about time, right? I love the season’s cheeriest colors, and a more vibrant spring hair color would nicely complement those styles.

Since I was pleased with my last at-home color treatment (read more about that here), I returned to Walmart to purchase another Schwarzkopf color ULTÎME® product. The assortment of the latest fashion colors in this line drew me to it. After using it, the vibrant and long lasting color made me a repeat user.

During the fall, I chose the color Velvet Brown. For spring, Cinnamon Brown is my top choice in the Schwarzkopf color ULTÎME® line. I like to stay in the deep brunette color family because of my haircut with the fade that grows out quickly. These deeper hues blend well as my fade grows out.

Just like last time, this system makes coloring the hair easy. Everything you will need for the color application process comes inside the box. From the instructions to disposable gloves to  the color applicator, it’s all in there.

Easy steps to a spring hair color

After a few simple steps, I had a fresh-for-spring hair color. Here’s what I had to do: (1) read the instructions, (2) put on the gloves and blend the color cream with the developer lotion, (3) apply the color to my hair, (4) set a timer and wait 30 minutes, then (5) rinse, shampoo, and condition. That’s it!

Spring hair color transformation

Here’s a side-by-side view to show my transition. Isn’t the color amazing? I love how vibrant and even shiny it makes my hair appear.

How to Switch up your Beauty Routine for Spring

This post is sponsored by Walmart.

I’m a staple-products kind of woman. When I find products that work for me, I stay loyal to them. What I’ve learned, however, is that it’s important to occasionally switch up your beauty routine to ensure that your skin is getting what it needs. Seasonal changes, for example, put different demands on our skincare products. So, I like to tweak my routine when welcoming a  new season

Now, I’m no guinea pig, I like to stick to brands I know and trust. I’m a fan of Shea Moisture because the products use organic, good-for-you ingredients that perform as promised. The line also offers products for our head-to-toe needs. For spring, I’m infusing a few new Shea Moisture products into my routine.

Spring Beauty Routine

Is it just me, or after winter your skin feels like it needs its moisture replenished? When I choose cleaners, then, I like to make sure they’re gentle on my skin and also nourishing. And, the selection of Shea Moisture cleansers is so wide that I often discover new-to-me formulas there, including the Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Shea Butter Soap. Do yourselves a favor and try this soap.

Deep Cleanse/Treat:

Don’t want to change your staple facial products? Me neither! To make your routine fresh for spring, consider simply adding a new mask to your regimen. The skin-healing and hydrating properties of the right mask might be just what your skin needs to recover from winter.

This Clarifying Mud Mask is my go-to for spring because it leaves my skin exfoliated and bright. While it is a mud mask, this one doesn’t get caky, dry, nor irritating.

And, when you wash it off? The skin feels so refreshed.

Shea moisture. Aloe. Coconut oil. You only need to glimpse the ingredients in this next moisturizer to know that it’s good stuff. The Shea Butter Ultra-Rich Moisturizing Body Lotion is the kind of product that’ll satisfy all your skin’s issues, from dryness to sensitivity.

I love that the lotion is lightweight, non-greasy, and super moisturizing. It’s perfect for for replenishing the skin after a harsh winter. It’s often hard to find, but I always have luck finding it here.

Did I mention that it smells amazing? It does!

I wash my hair often, after workouts and in the mornings to get it ready for styling. So, I’m picky when it comes to shampoos and conditioners because I use them so frequently. Since testing the Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner, I knew they were perfect for my spring hair routine.

These two products are moisturizing, shine-enhancing, and softening. My hair loves them. By the way, it’s so easy to shop these products at Walmart. After realizing how effective these products were on my hair, I decided test a new styling gel by Shea Moisture.

Will you be mixing things up in your spring beauty routine?
