Fashioning The Face Mask

No matter where you stand on the issue of face masks, there has been an abundance of evidence that suggests they make us safer. I’ve chosen to wear a face mask for months now. My city of St. Louis mandated masks last Friday, so I thought I’d share a cool way I’ve been embracing my masks as accessories. In the following Instagram video, I’m colorblocking with my masks, y’all.

Orange dress | Green romper (sold out) | Turquoise dress | Masks

My masks are from Shein, and they came in a set of 4 for about $10. They’re cool if you’re looking to add more to your rotation without spending much. There are several face mask styles to choose from. Target has some really affordable and accessible sets for the entire family as well (see them here).

Masks have been the fashion accessory lately. Since we have to wear them, we might as well make them stylish! Love your picks here!

Indeed, Ama. And, that’s what I say…might as well embrace it as a style opportunity.

The straps on the Baggu masks are a little different (there’s a how-to video on their site) but they have really fun punchy colors, are easy to breathe through and the straps spare your ears! I have bought several sets for my family: https://baggu.com/collections/reusable-masks. There’s a pocket for filters, too, and their bright color-blocking makes me happy.

Like you, I’ve been masking up for months now. It seems like a small thing to do to show that we care about our communities. Will do a deeper dive into the chic designs you’ve shared as well–thank you so much for sharing!

Smart decision, Tara. I agree with you. And, thanks for the Baggu recommendation. They’re gorgeous, and I love that they have that adjustable nose wire to help prevent the fogging of my sunglasses 🙂
